IZ*ONE officially returned to the Korean stage on April 1 with the second mini-album Heart*Iz and the title song "Violeta" (Hangul: 비올레타; Romaja: Biolleta).

The number of domestic album pre-orders exceeded 200,000 copies. Upon its release, Heart*Iz topped the Gaon Album and Oricon Overseas Album Charts, selling over 130,000 copies in its first week, a new era for a K-pop girl group at the time.

KMCA awarded the album Platinum certification on October 10 after selling over 250,000 units.  Heart*Iz also peaked at sixth on the Billboard World Albums chart.  Meanwhile, the title track "Violeta" peaked at number eighteen and fifth on the Gaon Digital Chart and Billboard K-pop Hot 100, respectively. "Violeta", is a pop song featuring tropical house with a future bass-inspired opening.

The members of IZ*ONE began to participate in the music production process starting with the second mini-album Heart*Iz, when Kim Minju and Honda Hitomi participated in writing the lyrics for the song "Really Like You",  Kim Minju participated in writing the lyrics for the Korean version of "Neko ni Naritai" and Lee Chaeyeon participated in writing the lyrics for the Korean version of "Gokigen Sayonara".

Heart*Iz, a combination of "heart" and "IZ*ONE".  The title song "Violeta" is inspired by the fairy tale "The Happy Prince" and represents purple flowers, or the people the group wants to send their love to;  and IZ * ONE is a swallow that brings happy Saphir to those who need it;  In addition, the song also brings the message that each individual has their own value.  These are all reflected in the swallow choreography of "Violeta".  The song's music video uses "lively nature-themed visuals", with "dreamy technicolor footage of flowers, shining prisms, shimmering splashes of water, and aesthetically pleasing designs.  other".
