Seoul Music Awards is an award established in 1990 and awarded annually by Sports Seoul for exceptional achievements in the music industry Korea. The winner is the artist who released the album that year, along with 20% mobile voting, 10% Sports Seoul poll, 40% digital downloads and album sales.  and 30% of the judge's score.

It is one of the 4 biggest awards presented annually in the Korean music industry along with Melon Music Awards, Mnet Asian Music Awards and Golden Disk Awards.  It is always the latest award out of these four prizes.

This year is probably the most exciting year of the Korean entertainment industry because of the presence of many prominent faces with successful music products.

Of course, the proudest thing of Diamond Star is that all four of the company's artist groups have been nominated and won awards in this year's award shows.

At the SMA awards ceremony, IOI, Wanna One, IZ * ONE and X1 all received Bonsang awards and a number of awards such as Performance of the Year (Wanna One - IZ * ONE), Popularity Awards (IOI - X1).

Before leaving, the girls attended a small interview and then followed the management team back to the waiting room to change into performance costumes to prepare for the awards ceremony to begin.

It took quite a while for all 12 girls to change their clothes, change their hairstyle and fix their makeup.  While artists from other companies entered the guest lounge one by one, the Diamond Star artist had a private meeting outside the auditorium.
