Between The Two

CHAPTER 5

ZEUS decided to drive since Amira is tipsy at nagsimula itong magpagewang-gewang habang papasok sa sasakyan. He was about to go to Perkins Deluxé Restau when his phone rang.

"Yes?"

[Doc, hinahanap po kayo ni Dra. Lopez may pag-uusapan daw ho sana kayo?] Agad niyang naalala ang meeting niya dito regarding the foundation they've been trying to build.

"Tell her, we'll talk when I come back to the hospital. Call me if there's an emergency." Pinatay niya ang tawag at binaling niya ang atensyon kay Amira na nahilig ang ulo sa likod ng upuan ng passenger seat. He reached for the her seat belt and inayos ito, he also did the same thing to his seat belt.

How are we supposed to eat if this woman is sleeping. Tanong niya sa sarili habang nagmamaneho.

After minutes he stopped the car at the parking lot. In his surprise, Amira removed her seat belt at nauna nang lumabas ng sasakyan at naunang pununta sa restaurant. Naiwan siyang nakatulala sa sasakyan habang tinitingnan ang babae na nakatayo sa may di kalayuan.

Nakita niya ang inis sa mukha ni Amira at nagpapadyak na pumunta sa sasakyan at pinagbuksan siya. "Damn, Zeus. I'm hungry, can you please hurry up and get off?" Ani nito habang hawak-hawak ang pintoan ng driver's seat.

Natauhan agad siya at lumabas ng sasakyan at nakasunod lang sa naunang si Amira. They sat on the left side of the restaurant where the sofa and tables are located while on the center and right area are just tables and chairs. He assisted Amira as she sat on the couch and he seated in front of her.

The restaurant is filled with white ceilings, it has a huge sparkly golden chandelier at the center. The walls are black and it has white carvings on top of it, every detail of it are beautiful. The wooden tables and chairs are painted with black and has black cloth with a white vase and other tables has gold vase with plastic flowers. Even tho it's just plastic it's still beautiful. Now, Amira and him are sitting in a white sofa and in between of them is the black table with golden vase.

He's now wearing his button down navy blue polo and slacks, he left his hospital coat in the car. He looked at Amira who's now facing the menu and giving her orders to the waiter. She look tipsy and drunk but she act like she's sober, well, she is but she's still drunk!

"Fresh Grilled Fish and this Special Bulalo." The waiter noted Amira's order while she was showing the waiter the menu and bahagya pa nitong tinuturo ang mga nasa menu. "Then rice."

"The fresh grilled fish ma'am, do you want it spicy?"

"Just a little spice, okay?" Baling nito sa waiter at humarap sa kanya. "Mag-order ka na rin."

Binilisan niya ang pagpili ng order at sa huli he ordered steak. The waiter was about to leave but Amira talked.

"Hey, add up iced milk."

"Ma'am, we don't have iced milk just buko shake." Agad bumalik ang waiter para iassist uli sila.

Nalungkot si Amira at tumingin sa waiter. "Do whatever you can do, i'll pay for my iced milk. I'll also give you a tip."

"I'll try, ma'am. If we don't have it, I'm sorry in advance." Then the waiter left.

Nanatili siyang nakatingin sa mapupungay na mata ni Amira. He thought she's scary because of how she acted earlier but he saw her asking for iced milk melted his heart.

"Don't stare at me like that." Amira in a serious tone as she crossed her arm.

"What do you mean 'like that'?"

"Nothing."

Kumunot ang nuo niya but he just stayed silent and didn't ask another question. They were both silent the whole time then their food arrived and they started eating.
