Between The Two

CHAPTER 9

EVERY city in the Philippines has military bases. She just talked to the chief in the Military to relay the message about the security in all the bases in different places.

After the meeting she had earlier in the morning with her men about the security in the hospitals in the Philippines, Dumiretso siya sa iba't ibang hospitals sa syodad na kinaroroonan niya ngayon para tingnan kung nagttrabaho ba ang mga tauhan niya. Hindi naman halatang mga tauhan niya ito. Nakahalo ang mga tauhan niya sa mga civilian para di matunogan ng kalaban ang plano nila.

Now, it's the last hospital na bibisitahin niya. Ang Santiago Doctor's Hospital. When she arrived napansin niya agad ang mga tauhan niya na nasa labas ng ospital. Ang iba ay nagbebenta ng kung ano-ano, may nagpapanggap na civilian at ang iba ay pulibing nagsstandby sa parking lot na nasa harapan ng ospital.

Nang bumaba siya sa sasakyan at pumasok sa ospital. Ganito rin naman ang ginagawa niya sa ibang ospital na binisita niya kanina. Checking the credibility and stability of his men around the hospital. If she can still see some holes where the enemies can attack agad niya itong ginagawan ng solusyon. Failure in her watch? No. That's not gonna happen.

"Looking for me?" Napatigil siya sa paglalakad ng may nagsalita sa likoran niya. She knows this manly voice. Dahan-dahan siyang humarap dito at tama nga siya. It's Zeus.

"No. I'm actually here to visit a friend." She smiled confidently to hide her lie.

"Oh." His mouth formed 'o' making her remember what she did last night.

I kissed those lips.

Shit. She cussed as she heard her heart beating so fast. Then, he smiled. "Did you get home safely last night after what happened?"

She just nodded while looking at his face. May katamtamang kapal ng kilay ito na nagpapaganda sa kulay tsokolateng mga mata. Damn. His eyelashes are better than mine. How is that possible? Dumako ang mga mata niya sa mapupula nitong labi kasabay ng pagbasa ni Zeus ng labi nito. Napalunok si Amira nang mapansing nakatingin din sa kanya si Zeus agad siyang bumalik sa huwisyom.

"How about you?" She already knew since her men assisted Zeus last night but she still asked.

"Nakauwi naman ako na buhay." He chuckled. "The waiter in that chinese restaurant was kinda weird, you know? He drove me home. Wow!" Manghang-manghang pagkasabi ni Zeus.

Napangiti nalang si Amira. That was one of my men working for me. "That was actually nice. Ayaw mo non? He helped you."

Tumango-tango ito. "May point ka rin naman. By the way, why did you say that I should never tell anyone you were there last night?"

She faked her laugh. "I don't wanna tell my boss that I took advantage of the commotion just to run away from my job– fixing tables. Remember?"

Please, just believe me and don't ask questions.

"You're bad but–"

"But?" She asked.

"I like it." He smiled looking in her eyes.

"Bad people aren't supposed to be liked, right?" Tumaas ang kilay niya sa kabila nang lakas ng pintig ng puso niya.

"You're an exemption to that, Amira." He smiled again.

Di ba sumasakit ang panga ng lalaking 'to kakangiti? Napansin niya kasing palagi nalang itong nakangiti simula nang mag usap sila. But I don't mind though. He's handsome no crash that out he's way more than that word. Bago pa siya mahibang sa mga ngiti nito ay nagsalita na siya.
