Between The Two

CHAPTER 7

"NI HAO, do you have any reservation sir?" Salubong ng isang waiter kay Zeus ng makapasok siya sa isang chinese restaurant.

"Yes, under the name of Z."

"This way sir." Nagsimula itong maglakad at sumunod lang si Zeus.

These past few weeks all that he's doing is trying out new foods from different restaurant and going to places he has never been to. Why? That's what he does since he last saw Amira. He's hoping to meet her while he's jumping into different places.

He asked Amira's brother where she is but the answer he got was 'I don't know'.

The waiter opened the door of a VIP room and leaded the way inside. "Have a sit, Sir." Umupo naman si Zeus at napatingin sa kabuoan ng kwarto.

It's a medium size of room that has small wooden table on the floor and flat pillows where you can sit that is placed in the middle of the room. The whole room has red carpet and the walls? It's not really a wall it's a retractable wooden craft that is made as the divider that connects to the other room.

The waiter handed him the menu. "This is the menu, Sir. Feel free to choose what you want."

Kumunot ang noo ni Zeus dahil napakaraming pagkain ang naroroon at lahat ng ito ay hindi pamilyar sa kanya maliban nalang sa salitang 'noodles' na nandodoon sa menu na may kahalong pangalan.

He just pinpointed what he wanted to eat. "This." Turo niya sa picture na noodles na may slices ng meat sa ibabaw. "And also this." Laking pasalamat niya ng makakita siya ng fried rice with toppings ng meat na may sauce. "For the drinks, I'll just try this Melon juice."

Pagkatapos kunin ang order niya ay lumabas na ang waiter. He just waited patiently when he heard the other room beside his room opened.

When his order arrived, he thanked the waiter who served him and he started eating. Everything was normal, he enjoyed the food and his drink. Napatingin siya sa phone niya nang makita niyang nagtext doon si Helm, his friend– crazy friend- to be exact .

From: Helm
'Where are you buddy?'

Agad siyang nag type. 'Don't ask me like that I felt like your lost dog.'

From: Helm
'Well, you are my lost dog.'

Sa nabasang 'yon ay nainis siya ay nagmadaling itype ang gusto niyang iprating kay Helm.

To: Helm
'Wait 'til I see you. Sasaksakin kita gamit ang karayom.'

From: Helm
'I'm not scared.'

Threatening Helmiro Rouge is useless. Maybe, I'll just show it to him when I see him.

Pinagpatuloy ni Zeus ang pagkain niya at may naririnig siyang kalukos sa katabing kwarto niya. He just ignored it but mas tumatagal may lumakas ang kaluskos sa kabilang kuwarto. Napakunot ang noo niyang tiningnan ang wooden craft na naging divider ng kuwarto niya. Hinintay niyang tumigil ang kaluskos na nanggagaling sa kabilang kwarto pero hindi 'yon tumigil.

Lumapit si Zeus sa divider at inilapat ang tainga sa divider na tila nakikinig sa kabilang kwarto. Naguluhan siya sa nangyayari ng marinig niyang may nagsasalita doon.

"Two more minutes." Anito.

"Fuck. Do something. Make them walk slowly." His body froze he knows that voice.

Hearing that voice made his curiosity blowed . Pinuntahan niya ang dulo ng divider at maingat niyang inurong ang retractable wooden craft divider. Sumilip si Zeus sa kabilang kuwarto na pinagmumulan ng kaluskos.
