Smack.

'Ouch!' I yelled, and sprang upwards, 'What was that for?!'

'We have to get ready Bella- you know? For classes?' Hannah said slowly as if talking to a misbehaving toddler.

I threw a pillow at her face and walked to my trunk to get my robes.

'Yeah Bella, classes,' Megan mimicked as she woke up and slipped on her robes as well, Susan just giggled; she woke up really early and she didn't talk much, but we had grown fond of her like a mutual acquaintance. Megan grew close through her ranting to us about 'muggle' books and how good some of them are.

Three weeks had gone by since I woke up, you could say that I had already become accustomed to the moving staircases, talking portraits, Xavier's nagging, brushing Hannah's soft hair and avoiding getting pranked by the twins and more specifically being dragged into it by them.

Not that I'm complaining though. Their pranks are hilariously entertaining- if you're not the one being pranked. I even found out I have a calling to mischief.

'Good morning, class,' rang out Madam Hooch, a fairly tall lady, with short, brown hair and amber eyes.

Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw were lined up in two rows with brooms on the ground at their sides. Hannah looked a tad bit nervous and was biting at her nails, whilst Xavier was looking calm and composed as usual on his line. His brother Draco, boasted alot about how he was an expert on flying on his broomstick, said he was taught as soon as he'd learn to walk.

Xavier on the other hand, urged us to read two books on broomology he borrowed from the library, the twins also gave us some tips since they themselves are beaters, but other than that I have no experience whatsoever, and I fear falling from a broomstick one hundred feet in the air to my certain death.

'Welcome to your first flying lesson, Hurry now- everyone step up to the left side of their broomstick. Come on now, hurry up. Stick your right hand over the broom and say, up!' she instructed and crossed her arms to observe us with her hawk like eyes.

We all did what she instructed and chorused, 'Up.'

My broomstick just remained where it was- there- on the ground- mocking me.

'Up,' I repeated and looked around.

Xavier's was already in his hand as well as most of the other Ravenclaws, with a smug grin plastered to his face when he noticed I was looking at him and chuckled as he looked at my broom then back at me.

'Showoff,' I muttered and rolled my eyes continuing to say up, over and over again becoming slightly annoyed. Hannah's was slowly rising and mine remained stubbornly on the ground.

'Up,' I said, and it finally budged and rose into my open hand. I heaved a sigh of relief and I noticed that there was still a good lot of students who hadn't summoned their brooms as yet.

'With feeling!' Madame Hooch advised.

Everyone eventually had successfully summoned theirs and she continued, 'Now, once you've got hold of your broom, I want you to mount it. And grip it tight, you don't want to be sliding off the end' We all did just so and a wave of nervousness hit me when it hit me what we were about to do, my stomach churned, 'When I blow my whistle, I want each of you to kick off from the ground, hard. Keep your broom steady, hover for a moment, and then lean forward slightly and touch back down. On my whistle...3...2...1....' the sound of a high- pitched whistle rang.
