A pleasant evening in Tokyo, Japan and walking through the busy streets of the city was a mother and a father hand in hand with a very happy looking young girl.

Skipping along with each of her hands being held tightly by her parents.

Akko: That was so cool!!! I wanna be a witch now! Just like Shiny Chariot is!!

Mr Kagari: Haha! I'm sure that one day you will be able to accomplish that dream sweetie!

The Kagari family. People who lived their lives like normal, much like everyone else in the city.

Mrs Kagari: It will take years of practice and work honey! Are you sure you wanna dedicate yourself to something like magic this early on?

Akko: Of course I do! I wanna perform and make people happy! Just like Chariot!

The family blended in with the rest of the Tokyo crowd as they made their trek home. But aside from the average passer by, something stuck out of the crowd more than usual.

In the doorway of one of the closed shops was sat a young boy with a blanket wrapped around him, holding onto a small teddy bear.

He was looking around in the crowd anxiously as he would back away further into the doorway when people gave him weird looks.

Mr Kagari: Is that...a child? Why is he there all by himself?

As the family approached, the young boy looked at them and backed even further away.

Mrs Kagari: Oh no! Please don't back away! We only want to help you!

The young Akko slowly began to approach the boy who was around her age with curiosity and watched as the boy did the same.

Akko: Hehe! Hi there! I'm Akko! What's your name?

The boy looked around anxiously again and curled himself into a ball.

Mr Kagari: There's no need to be scared! We only wanna help you!

The boy waited for a second before unraveling himself and speaking.

Y/N: I-I'm Y-Y/N.

Mrs Kagari: That's a lovely name! What are you doing out here on your own honey?

Y/N: M-Mummy a-and D-Daddy t-told me to wait here for them. Th-they s-said n-not to s-speak t-to strangers!

Mrs Kagari: Do you know where they went?

Y/N shook his head.

Mr Kagari: How long have you even been out here? And why would they just leave you with a blanket and a teddy?

It seemed quite obvious that although they didn't want it to be true, they were certain that he had been abandoned.

Y/N: Th-they t-told m-me t-to wait here. A-And th-that's what I-I'm gonna do!

He curls back into a ball, leaving the family with a choice to make. All the while, Akko was still crawling towards Y/N trying to gain his attention.

Akko: Psst! Hey! Y/N! Y/N?

Y/N unravels himself to reveal that he had been crying a little.

Akko: Don't cry Y/N! You have to be happy!

The girl pulls the boy into a hug who tenses up and squirms around. It took some time, but Y/N did eventually settle down into the hug and hugged the Japanese girl back.

Mr Kagari: Well we can't leave you out here on your own kid. We've gotta take you back to our home for now and then tomorrow we can go and see if you can find your parents.

Y/N only had to nod his head before Akko let go and watched as her father scooped up the young boy off the ground and into his arms.

Mr Kagari: And if we can't find them, we can find some middle ground. I'm sure.

Y/N didn't say anything but cling onto his bear tighter and eventually falling asleep, being watched ever closely by the young Kagari.

Akko: OOF! OWW! That hurts!

Y/N: W-what have you done now?

Around a year or two later, Y/N still found himself with the Kagari family. They did go and search for his parents the following day, but found no sign of them.

They were going to put him in an orphanage but because of the protests from their daughter, they let him stay.

And it turned out to be the best decision they had ever made! Not only did Akko feel as if she had the brother she never got, but the young boy was so polite and almost acted as a protective brother to Akko.

Something that both mother and father were extremely grateful for.

Akko: I was only trying to get on my broom again! One day it'll work!

Y/N got up from where he was sat and went over to his adoptive sister and crouched down and looked at her leg and shook his head.

Y/N: Just please don't get yourself too hurt!

Akko: Blah blah blah! You say this all the time Nii-Chan! But it will never stop me!

Akko then threw her arms around the boy and squeezed him tightly.

Akko: You might have gotten a bit overprotective of me, but that still doesn't mean I won't hug you like this!

The young girl rubbed her cheek against his as he laughed and put his arms around her.

Mrs Kagari: We made the right choice taking him in. Atsuko and him have a very special bond!

Mr Kagari: I know. He's probably one of the best things to happen to us.

The two adults watched the two kids interact and begin to play despite Akko's fall.

Mrs Kagari: What about when she goes to witch school? I know it's a few years away yet, but we have to decide what we will do.

Mr Kagari: We will just have to send him with her! I'm sure they can make an exception.

Mrs Kagari: I hope so. Like I said, he's formed a special bond with our daughter. In fact, I'm happy calling him our son. Are you?

Mr Kagari: Of course I am! We've given him a good home to live in. And in return he has provided us with the amount of care and respect anyone would want! He's really treated Atsuko well!

The two continued to watch the two kids chase each other around the garden until they dragged themselves back inside again out of tiredness.

To the Kagari's, Y/N was a gift that they all gratefully accepted! And one that they would cherish forever!

No matter the turmoil that may be ahead, they would always love him as one of theirs!
