"Wake up!" I hissed and shook Johanna awake.

I knew by experience to stand back when waking her up, unless a bloody nose was the top thing on my bucketlist. I snarled and dragged her to a sitting position and started filling up a glass of water to throw at her. I turned around to find her standing right in front of me. She took the glass and drank it.

"This better be important," she groaned. "What's wrong?"

A large gust of wind blew threw the house and I shivered. Two lamps were knocked over and the pillows from the couch were on the floor. Huge, blinding white lights flooded through the tiniest cracks in the walls and threw the small windows. I squinted at her as I dug through my suitcase for some pants.

"Did you bring any weapons?" I shouted since some loud noise was above us.

Johanna gave me a look that said 'of course I did' and threw open a cupboard. I gave her a half grin when I saw all the sharp daggers, knives and axes she had hidden. I grabbed a few knives and slid them into my boots.

"I still don't know what's happening!" Johanna yelled and put pants on too. "Is that a hovercraft?"

I frowned, I hadn't considered it. I stopped moving and listened closely. No, it coudn't be. Hovercrafts were loud, but they weren't that loud. I moved some other weapons aside to see if there was anything else, and my jaw dropped open. I grabbed the bow and arrows and gave Johanna a look that could kill her.

"Seriously!" I cried. "Where did you even find these?"

In my hands, I held the same bow I had used in my first hunger games. My bloody fingerprints were caked on and fit my hand perfectly. It felt familiar yet strange, like talking to a person who used to be a friend. I dragged the quiver up to eye level. It had to be the same one. There were scorch marks on the bottom and back and various patches of blood. I shuddered and examined the arrows. At least they looked clean and new.

"Any time now!" Johanna screamed, fully clothed, her hand on the doorknob. "We need to go, now!"

I shook my head, grabbed a few more knives and headed to the door.

"Go," I urged and flipped up my hood.

"What evil awaits us?" She cried out sarcastically and flung the door open fast enough to break someone's foot.

I gasped and nearly fell over.

"Gale," I murmured. Johanna's eyes went wide.

"Run! Go!" He yelled and dragged me out of the house. "Don't ask questions, Katniss, run into the woods and stay there, now!"

I couldn't move anything but my arm, I reached out to him, to let him know what had been on my tongue for two years. Johanna slapped me in the face. She screamed what must have been a battle cry, picked me up and charged down the hill, into the woods. All I could see between the bobbing up and down on her shoulders was Gale, my Gale, running into my house. I didn't even know why.
