•Chapter 8

•Temari's Pov
   "You all are dismissed. You will get an email containing your grade, later this weekend." Ebisu sensei says. 'This weekend?!?' I don't think I can wait that long. We took the test this period, and I don't think I have ever been this nervous in my life. I know that if I fail this it won't be the end of my life, but it will be nearly impossible to get my grade up in time for in-term reports. "Are you coming?" I hear a familiar voice ask, snapping me out of my thoughts. I  looked up to see all the students gone, besides Shikamaru who was standing right in front of me.

  "Oh yeah, sorry." I say as I grab my backpack and get up. We start heading out the building. "Temari, calm down. I'm sure you did fine." the lazy boy next to me says. "What are you talking about? I am calm." I lie. "You look like your about to pee yourself." he responds in a lazy tone. "Be quiet." I say. "I'm trying to help you, you troublesome woman." he says teasingly. I turn to hit his arm, but he catches my punch. "You won't get me again." he chuckles.

"Oh really Shikamaru? So that's how it is." A girl with red hair and glasses says as she runs up to us looking angry. "What is it, Karin?" he asks in an uninterested tone. "Don't 'what is it Karin' me!" she yells, causing some people to stare. Me and Shikamaru turn to look at each other in confusion. "You know Shiho likes you! So why the hell are you with her?!?" she says as she turns to look at me. "What are you talking about?" I ask her like she's dumb.

  "What's going on?" Ino says as she walks over to us three. "I have no idea." Shikamaru answers. "I'll tell you what's going on! Shikmaru is cheating on Shiho." Karin exclaims. 'He has a girlfriend?!?" I ask myself. "What are you talking about? He isn't dating anyone. So how is he cheating on Shiho?" Ino defends him. "Everyone in the school knows that Shiho called dibs on him. And this girl right here was over there flirting with him." she says as she points at me. "What are you talking about?!" me and Shikamaru both ask at the same time. "Don't play dumb. You two were walking around blushing your lives away just a second ago. I was watching the whole thing." she says. 'Was I really blushing?' I think to myself. "That didn't happen, and even if it did, it's none of your business." I say. "Whatever. But when I tell Shiho about this and she cries, just know it's your fault." she says as she rolls her eyes and walks away.

  "What a drag." Shikamaru mumbles. "Who's Shiho anyways?" I ask. "She's this girl who has a giant crush on pineapple head." Ino laughs as she points at Shikamaru. "I'm going to go meet up with Naruto and Sasuke, see you guys later." Shikamaru says as he walks off with his hands in his pockets. "So what's actually going on between you two?" Ino asks me while wiggling her eyebrows. "Nothing. We are just friends." I say. "Just friends my ass! I can feel the tension between you two." she exclaims. I just ignore her comment. "I can tell that he likes you." she says. "Huh, what, really?!?" I ask her breaking my guard. "Aha, I knew you like him." she teases me. "To be honest, I don't know if I like him or not. It's weird." I say. "Don't worry. I'll help you figure it out." Ino says as she flashes me a smile then skips away happily.

•Shikamaru's Pov
"You all are dismissed. You will get an email containing your grade, later this weekend." Ebisu sensei says. I had my head down, but I was awake. I have to meet up with Sasuke and Naruto to help Sasuke come up with a surprise for Sakura, for there 1 year anniversary. It's a drag, but I have to do what I have to do. I get up from my desk to see everybody in the class gone, besides Temari who was still seated at her desk. "Are you coming?" I ask her.

"Oh yeah, sorry." she says as she grabs her stuff then we head out. She looks really nervous, and I know it's because of the test. "Temari, calm down. I'm sure you did fine." I say, trying to cheer her up. "What are you talking about? I am calm." she responds. "You look like your about to pee yourself." I say in a lazy tone. "Be quiet." the emerald eyed girl chirps back. "I'm trying to help you, you troublesome woman." I tease. I saw her about to throw a punch at me put a caught it. "You won't get me again." I chuckle.

   "Oh really Shikamaru? So that's how it is." Karin says in an aggressive tone as she walks over to us. "What is it, Karin?" I ask, uninterested in whatever she needs to say. "Don't 'what is it Karin' me!" yells back, causing people to stare. Me and Temari look at each other in confusion. "You know Shiho likes you! So why the hell are you with her?!?" she says as she turns to look at Temari. "What are you talking about?" Temari asks.

"What's going on?" Ino says as she walks over. "I have no idea." I answer, putting my two arms up to surrender. "I'll tell you what's going on! Shikmaru is cheating on Shiho." Karin exclaims. 'Not this again.' I think to myself. "What are you talking about? He isn't dating anyone. So how is he cheating on Shiho?" Ino defends me. "Everyone in the school knows that Shiho called dibs on him. And this girl right here was over there flirting with him." she says as she points to Temari. "What are you talking about?!" Temari and I yell in sync . "Don't play dumb. You two were walking around blushing your lives away just a second ago. I was watching the whole thing." she says. 'I was blushing?' I ask myself. "That didn't happen, and even if it did, it's none of your business." Temari says. "Whatever. But when I tell Shiho about this and she cries, just know it's your fault." Karin exclaims as she rolls her eyes and walks away.

"What a drag." I say under my breath. "Who's Shiho anyways?" Temari asks. "She's this girl who has a giant crush on pineapple head." Ino laughs as she points at me. "I'm going to go meet up with Naruto and Sasuke, see you guys later." I say as I wave at them and walk off.

Sasuke, Naruto, and I have been sitting in Sasuke's room for about 2 hours now, and we still can't think of anything that Sasuke agrees with. "Just get her some flowers or something. Your thinking to hard." Naruto says, not looking away from the video game that he was playing. "Just flowers isn't enough." Sasuke says in a bland tone as he lays his head back into his pillow.

  "How about you get her favorite flowers, and set up a nice picnic in the park or something. I'm sure she'll like that." I suggest with a yawn. "That's not bad." Sasuke says as he lays his head back in his pillow. "Really?!?" Naruto yells excitedly. "Yeah. She likes cherry blossoms, so I'll get her those. Then i'll bring some syrup-coated anko dumplings and umeboshi." Sasuke states as he gets up and writes down his plan in his notebook, sounding concentrated on what he is saying.

  "Shikamaru your a genius even when it comes to girls!" Naruto exclaims. 'I don't know about that.' I think to myself. "So do you have a special lady in your life? Well besides your mom of course." Naruto asks as he turns off the game and jumps onto the bed and swings his feet back and forth. "No." I respond. "Hmmm.. are you sure about that?" Naruto asks with a smirk growing in his face. "What are you talking about Naruto?" I ask him with a confused face. "You have been spending an awful lot of time with that Temari girl." he says with a wide grin. "What does that have to do with anything?" I ask. "Ohh come in Shikamaru! Sasuke and I know that you like her already, so stop trying to hide it!" Naruto says teasingly and Sasuke nods in agreement.

  "I don't like her." I say as I feel my face heat up. "Then why are you blushing?" Naruto teases. "I'm not." I say. "You are though." Naruto says with a laugh. "It's nothing to be embarrassed about." Sasuke shrugs. "Yeah, it happens to the best of us." Naruto states. "So when are you going to ask her out?" Sasuke asks, not looking up from the notebook. "Ask her out? Yeah, I'm not doing that." I respond. "Why not? It looks like she likes you too." Naruto says with a shrug. "Why do you say that?" I ask. "Because it's obvious. Even Naruto, who is a complete airhead can tell." Sasuke says bluntly. Naruto nods in agreement until he realizes what he just said.

  "Hey that's not nice Sasuke!" he yells. "I have been spending a lot of time with her, but that's because i'm helping her study. But to be honest I think I do kind of like her, but i'm not sure." I admit. "Well don't you worry, just like you always help Sasuke and me figure out things with Sakura and Hinata, we are going to help you with Temari." Naruto says excitedly. "We will start tomorrow!" Naruto continues. "What do you mean, 'start tomorrow'?" I ask. "You'll see." Naruto says as he gets up and starts playing the game again. I look at Sasuke in question, and he just shrugs.
