Chapter 12

-Shikamarus Pov

Eventually everyone else arrived and we all hung out downstairs. Temari and I didn't really talk about what happened, it's kinda like she has been avoiding me, but i'm kind of glad because this whole situation is a drag.

I don't know what got into me. I have never done anything like that before so I don't even know if I did it right.

Should I ask her? Nope nope nope, that's a horrible idea. What if she says it was bad. What if-

"Oi Shikamaru." I hear Ino say, snapping me out my thoughts. "You haven't really been yourself today, is everything okay?" she asks with a worried look.

We were all in the kitchen, about to do a baking competition or something.

"Yes he's good, he's just having some stomach troubles." Naruto blurts out as he winks at me. 'That moron.' I think to myself.

"Well just go use the restroom then. I'm sure Temari won't have a problem showing you were it is." Ino says with a smirk.

"It's alright, i'll take him." Tenten says coming to my rescue. Ino gives her a confused look.

I get up and play along. "Did you and Tem not talk about what happened or something? Why are you both being so awkward. " Tenten asks me as we get up the stairs.

"No we didn't talk. I didn't know what to say." I say in a lazy tone. "Well how about you start off by asking her how she feels about the whole situation, and then take it from there." she suggest.

"I would, but it doesn't look like she wants to talk to me. She's been steering away from me all day." I reply. "Maybe that's because she's just as nervous as you are about the whole situation." she says.

"What? I'm not nervous." I speak in a lazy voice. "Shikamaru, please. Your not fooling anybody." she chuckles. "Troublesome." I say as I walk into the bathroom that I do not need to use.

Temaris's Pov
"What's taking them so long?" Naruto complains. "Should we go check?" Ino asks. "No, leave them be, they'll be down in a minute." Neji says sternly.

"Tem, are you alright, you seem a little off today." Sakura says putting her hand on my shoulder. "Yeah, i'm good." I respond giving a thumbs up.

In reality, to many thoughts were flowing in my head. What if he didn't actually want to kiss me, but I kissed him and he just went along with it. What if he didn't like it. What if he doesn't feel the same way about me that I feel about him.

I want to just talk to him, but everyone is here and if i'm seen next to him, I just know what Ino is going to make it awkward for us.

As i'm thinking, I see Tenten coming down the stairs. "Sorry, I forgot were the bathroom was for a sec." she says.
