The New Girl

Chapter 5

I woke up to hear a ruckus coming from my window. I figured it was Zach again, so as I looked up I saw Drew.
I was utterly confused as of why drew was coming through my window, and what's up with people seeking into my house? I laughed at the thought completely spacing out that Drew was there. When I snapped back into reality I realized that I probably looked like I just got ran over by a bus. I blushed horribly and sat up on my bed.
"Hey, not to be rude or anything, but why are you here?" I said stretching.
"Just thought I could give you a ride to school." He said smiling.
"Oh thanks, what time is it?" I asked standing up.
"7:00, you have time we can leave at 8:00." He said.
"Okay, I'll get ready you can just chill in here I guess." I said running into my bathroom.
I looked in the mirror and cringed, I can not believe I just let a human being see me look like this. I look like an effected bird. Oh lord, Drew must be a brave soldier to see my like this. I quickly took a shower, brushed my hair and teeth, and put in a little makeup. Finally I wore high waisted black jeans and a loose grey tee. I put my brown boots on, and walked back into my room. I checked the time on my phone and it said 7:50. Perfect.
"Just in time." He said smiling.
I nodded, and we walked downstairs to get some type of food. I grabbed two granola bars, my backpack, and left the house.
"thanks for giving me a ride." I said taking a bite of my granola bar.
"No problem, we should do this more often." He said concentrating on the rode.
"Yeah, I said setting my granola bar down next to his hand.
"Oh yeah. What were you gonna ask the other day? My mom kinda interrupted you." I said.
"Oh it was nothing." He stuttered.
"Okay!" I said reaching for my granola bar, but accidentally grabbing his hand instead.
"Sorry." I mumbled. I reached away, but he laced our fingers together.
"It's okay, I like it." He said squeezing my hand lightly.
I didn't know what to think of this, but it wasn't awkward at all. It felt right.

We got to school, our hands still tangled together. I let go, and got out of the car. Once we started walking back to the school Drew grabbed ahold of my hand again. I laughed under my breathe. It was cute how eager he was to hold my hand.
"You're cute." I said immediately regretting it.
He turned around and smiled pressing a kiss to my cheek. My cheeks turned a bright red. I had no clue how to react to this. We've only been friends for to days. This is all happening way to fast. I don't know if I even like him, and even if I do how could I start dating him already? I couldn't.
I smiled politely and walked away, untangling our hands.

"You and Drew though." Evelyn said elbowing me, laughing.

"Oh no." I said laughing slightly.
"No? You don't like him?" Kayli asked, clearly confused.

"Nope. I mean as a friend of course, not like that though. I kinda think he likes me. I mean he kissed me this morning, in the cheek. He held my hand too." I said blushing more.

Why the heck was I always blushing when I talked about him? I don't like him. I won't date again, not after what happened last time. It's not going to happen.

"Oh my gosh you guys would be so cute!" Kayli said smiling.

"You think so?" I said grinning a little.

"I know so." Evelyn answered for Kayli.

"Maybe." I lied.

Finally the bell ringed, and I ran to my locker, putting all my stuff away, and walking out of school. I accidentally bumped into someone. I looked up and saw a tall handsome boy. I smiled.
"
"Oh my gosh I'm so sorry." He said putting his hands in both my shoulders, "are you okay?"

"Oh yeah, I'm totally fine." I said laughing.
"Are  you new here? I dont think I've seen you around here." He said
"Yep, I'm new. I'm Ashley, what's your name?" I said.
"Ethan." He said grabbing something out of his backpack.
"We should hangout sometime." He said pulling his phone out and handing it to me, "Type in your number."
"Okay." I said typing in my number, and handing the phone back to him.
"Cya around." He said waving.
"Bye!" I said walking away.

"Hey, what was that?" Drew asked a little bit angry.
Why does he care? Why was he so mad all of a sudden? I didn't do anything did I? The face on his look was so straight it almost scared me.
I stuttered the whole time I was talking, afraid of whatever he would say back to me.
"Um h-his name is e-Ethan. He asked me f-for my n-number." I said backing away a little.
Drew angry face turned into a calm face, and he pulled me in for a hug. He chuckled into my hair shaking his head.
"Why were you stuttering?" He asked.
"I thought you were mad." I said honestly.
"Why would I be mad? Ashley I was only kidding." He said patting my back, and walking to his car.
I nodded and got into his car with him.
"So do you wanna help me study today?" He asked, turning on the radio.
"Sure, but on one condition."I said smiling.
"Oh yeah, what is it?" He said laughing.
"You'll find out." I said smirking.
