Mia's POV:

"Let me guess, Ayame stole that from a garage sale too," I sigh, gazing at a framed picture of a blobfish. It's large, taking up most of the wall over a grey chair in the corner of the commons, between the front door and kitchen area. It's even framed in fake gold.

Ayame huffs, still in their unicorn onesie, "No! I bought it from a garage sale!" they defend, horn swinging from side to side.

I go to tell them they're a moron but quickly realize that it isn't worth it. You can't fix stupid.

"I'm not even surprised at this point," I groan, taking a seat next to Sato on the couch, watching as he cowers in fear over The Haunted Mansion, which is literally a comedy.

Haru and I look at him with tired expressions while Akira is extremely amused.

One little jumpscare comes up, causing Sato to squeak like a frightened schoolgirl, clinging to me out of reflex. He's trembling in fear, hardly able to keep his eyes on the screen.

"Sato, it's not even that scary. Plus, it's 8 am on a Saturday. Why in the hell are you pissing your pants?" I ask, causing Akira to snicker from the other couch.

The blue-haired man-baby looks up at me with glossy eyes, Haru's Thomas the Tank Engine blanket wrapped around his large figure, "B-But t-there's a g-ghost," he trembles, clinging to me even tighter, making it hard to breathe.

"Ok, ok... Loosen your hold, man. I'm dying over here," I breathe out, trying to pry the terrified boy off of me.

His grasp on me losses as I take a breath of relief. But when the ghost shows up again, he tightens his grip once more.

"A-Akira, why would you make him watch this?" I question, struggling to get the boy off of me.

Akira only smiles in amusement, "Why do you assume this was my idea? It could've been Hanako's for all you know," he says, running his hand through his long, shiny hair.

I look at him with disapproving eyes while pushing Sato's face away from me.

The pretty boy sweats, "Ok, ok, you don't have to be so scary," Akira says, moving further away from me.

Hanako and Ayame, who are watching everything from the island, laugh at the scene. Haru, who's on the other side of Sato, moves to the other corner of the couch.

Eventually, I give up on the idea of the blue-haired boy letting go of me, relaxing in defeat. I sigh, putting my arm around him.

This causes everyone to go silent and Sato to stop shaking. I look around, noticing that no one's watching the movie anymore, and are instead staring at me with surprised eyes, even Akira.

"What?" I ask, tilting my head to the side.

   Akira blinks, "Mia..." he says.

   "Showing..." Hanako continues.

   "Affection," Ayame finishes.

I roll my eyes, sighing loudly, "Yes, I can be nice, big surprise."

"I didn't think it was possible. Seeing it with my own eyes is extraordinary," Haru says.

"Can I have a hug too?" Ayame asks through puppy-dog eyes.

   "No."

   "Worth a shot."

Akira's gaze turns to Sato, a curious expression finding its way to his features, "I think you may have broken him," he states.
