Chapter 3: The Familiar Face

I woke up with the sound of my alarm which I quickly turned off.

It's Saturday, and Lea asked me to accompany her in buying new rubber shoes. I got up from my bed and went inside my bathroom to get ready.

I went outside my room as soon as I dried my hair using a hair dryer and ran down the stairs.

When I reached our living room, I saw dad drinking coffee while watching morning news.

"Goodmorning Dad," I said that made him look at me.

"Are you going somewhere?" he asked.

Before I could answer my stepmom spoke.

"Goodmorning to you too Y/N," he turned to dad and slightly punched him jokingly. "At least greet her first before asking Hon," she added.

I chuckled.

"Actually Lea asked me to accompany her to buy new shoes," I answered my dad.

He just nodded and and watched the news again.

"Y/N, your not going to eat breakfast?" my stepmom asked.

"Yup, Lea said we'll eat breakfast at McDonald's," I said and went outside our house.

I called Lea, she also said that she'll come to pick me up because she will drive her car.

I still don't have a driver's licence yet and I don't know how to drive.

"Good morning Unnie," someone said and made me look at her.

It's the girl I hit with a stone.

"Good morning," I smiled at her. "By the way I haven't introduced myself yet, I'm Kang Y/N, and you are?" I asked her and offered my hand to shake.

"I'm Yewon, nice to meet you," she said and shake my hand.

I was admiring her beauty when someone suddenly a car stopped by.

"Get in Y/N, I'm hungry!" Lea shouted.

"Oh Lea this is Yewon, Yewon, this is Lea," I quickly said.

"Hi Unnie," Yewon greeted Lea.

"Yow," Lea said and smiled.

I went inside her car and bid goodbye to Yewon before Lea drove.

"Girl, I saw Yang Jungwon earlier," she finally spoke up while driving.

"Yeah I saw him yesterday too. His family just moved here in the subdivision," I said.

She looked at me for a second then diverted her attention to the road.

Its already lunch time and Lea already bought her rubber shoes. We were about to go to the Mall's food court when suddenly we saw Yang Jungwon with Yewon.

Jungwon was carrying the paper bags which I think is Yewon's stuffs.

"Yewon-nah!" Lea suddenly shouted.

Yewon smiled widely and waved at us. She immediately went to us leaving Jungwon behind her.

"Are you on a date?" Lea asked her.

I looked at Yewon and she just laughed at us.

"Him? No way, he's my brother. He just offered to help me shop clothes. I don't get him sometimes, he's overprotective," she pouted.

"Hey I heard that," Jungwon said that made us look at him. "Yewon, let's go. It's nice seeing you here, Y/N and Lea," he said and walked away with Yewon.

Wow. They're siblings. Well, they kinda look the same but there are some differences.

After Lea and I finished lunch, we were about to go home when suddenly Lea heard a familiar voice.

" Good afternoon everyone!" His voice echoed and we heard a loud cheer after.

"Y/N IT'S PARK SUNGHOON! THE FAMOUS FIGURE ICE SKATER!" Lea run as fast as she can to go to the center of the mall, where the stage is. Its super crowded and I was about to catch up to Lea but then, she was already nowhere my sight.

I see Park Sunghoon on the stage and is having a free fan meeting.

I wasn't actually interested in other sports except basketball. Yup, I play basketball and I am a member of our school basketball girls team. Unlike Lea, who's probably interested in a lot of sports including ice skating. Which must be the reason why she knows this Park Sunghoon.

An hour had passed and I still can't find Lea. Where'd that girl go? I tried to call her phone number but she is not answering. Now, I'm starting to get worried.

Well, she is not that dumb to get lost though. So I just texted her that I'll just wait her at the parking lot.

When I reached her car, I immediately sat at a bench nearby.

I looked around and saw another familiar face not so far away but I'm not sure who she is. It seems as if she's also waiting for someone.

"Mom!" I heard Yewon shouted and ran towards that lady's direction.

Maybe I thought she looks familiar because she looks exactly like Yewon.

I flinched when someone suddenly tapped my shoulder from behind.

"I'm sorry I left you back there Y/N," it was Lea scratching the back of her neck.

I smiled at her and stood up to go inside her car that she just opened.

I glanced to Yewon, Jungwon and their mom's direction once again before we drove away.

Something feels weird. I feel like I've actually seen Yewon's mom before.
