In love with your best friend huh?

Chapter 1

Kat's POV:
Hi my name is kat and I'm in love with my best friend.
Me and my best friend Alex have known each other since we were born. Well I've know him since I was born he's 2 (not really more like 1 1/2 years) years older. Our parents are best friends too.
I have a older sister named Leah and Alex has a older brother John. Both John and Leah also have know each other since they were born. Both the same age. Now you might be wondering why I'm telling you this. Well it's because our parents ship all of us. Me and Alex and Leah and John. Leah and John are both in happy relationships and our parents have pushed that idea out of the way. My moms name is Marie and Alex's mom is Beth. Beth is married to Leon. They are high school sweetheart who broke up and found each other 20 years later.

Now that you know all the information I can get on to the real story.

Alex- 16 years old male.
Kat- 14 year old female

Me and Alex have always been close since we were little. We'd always play games together and talk about random crap. We both went to the same middle school and his mom used to drop us off and then we'd ride the bus back to his house and mess around with each other and do our homework until my mom came and picked me up. His mom Beth would always take us fun places during the summer or a school break. It was usually the arcade or beach. For 2 years now we've all been going to see the Christmas tree in Manhattan. I've never liked Alex until my freshman year of high school. Like I said we've always been close but I never felt or had feelings until now.
It was his mom and stepdads wedding. It was in st Lucia and it was a week long vacation. We went to the pool and the beach it was really fun. That's when I finally caught feelings it was the night of his moms wedding and everyone was dancing and me being the shy bean I am didn't and sat at the table. Alex came over and grabbed my hand and led me to the dance floor and was moving my arms around getting me to dance with him. His older brother came over and whispered to me that we looked cute together and I became a mess. I was holding hands with Alex and after his brother John told me that I immediately let go and said I had to use the bathroom. I go to the bathroom and was freaking out. I held his hand. I was dancing with him. We had a moment. What do I do now. Wait what am I thinking. We didn't have a moment we are best friends. Oh my fucking god Kat you better not like him. Don't you dare catch feelings for your best-friend. After I got out of the bathroom and saw him at the same table I sat at before. He waited for me... oh my god Kat what did I just say NO FEELINGS he's just being nice. I got back to the table and sat as far way as possible from him. The rest of the night he kept asking me if I was ok because I was trying to not look at him and well it didn't work I would look up and we'd make eye contact. God this is so awkward. Someone please save me from this disaster.
Eventually my sister came over and saved me from that very embarrassing moment to tell me all the kids were going back up to our villa to hang out.

Did she just say all the kids... that means Alex is gonna go too. Oh shit... maybe he'll just go back to his villa and go to sleep it's pretty late right (time 7pm) YEAH right this bitch doesn't go to bed until like 3 am. I can't believe this I'll just tell them I'm going to bed. I'll say I'm very tired. Yup that'll work. We all got back up to my villa and as soon as everyone got out of the van Leah yelled for everyone to go get changed into their swimming suits so we can all chill and play in the pool... You've got to be kidding me. Now they are gonna call me a loser if I don't get in the pool too. Ugh. Come on Kat Alex said while he pulled my arm to lead us to the pool. As soon as we got to the pool he picked me us and threw me in. I immediately screamed because the water was freezing. He soon jumps in and we ended up playing games such as who can hold their breathe longer or hold a handstand longer. Our favorite game to play in the pool is going under the water and saying something while the other try's to understand. It's very fun I recommend it. We played until we couldn't hold our breathes long enough anymore. As the night continued it soon came to a end. All the other were leaving to go wash up and then we'd all go down to eat dinner. It was around 9:30 when everyone was ready to go eat. Nothing special happened at the dinner. When dinner was over everyone went back to their villas. Since Alex's was across from mine he stayed because it was still "early". We ended up playing Uno with me him and our older siblings.
The time was now 11 and both me and Alex were hanging out outside. The pool had beach chairs by it so we sat in those. I ended up getting up to dip my feet in the pool and he did too. Sat right next to me. We both layed down feet in the pool backs on the ground looking up at the stars. Pointing out the shapes we saw. Around 15 minutes later his brother came out saying he was tired and was heading back. Alex followed his brother and left. As he was getting up I tripped him and he ended up falling in the pool. He said very funny kat. I yelled pay back at him. After Alex and his brother left back to their villas. Then me and my sister went to sleep.
Remember I said this was a week long vacation today is only the 4rd meaning I still had a whole two more days with him. (We leave the last day in the morning that's why I said 2)
Me my mom and sister all make our way down to the cafe to join the other family's for breakfast. As soon as I walked into the restaurant and approached the groups table I made eye contact with Alex. What do I do what do I do. Act normal. It's just breakfast. Be normal and sit next to him like you always do. Just don't say anything embarrassing. Good morning I told Alex. He replied. We all sat down and ate our breakfast.
Later that day we all went on a trip around the island. Me and Alex were chatting on the way to the boat talking about random shit. When we got to the boat everyone got on me being clumsy got on to the boat and slipped. Alex went infront of me being I got on and when I slipped I fell on him. Nice going Kat you'll never live this down. Earth to Kat hello are you ok Alex said. Yeah I'm ok are you. He said yes and we both continue to take our seats on the boat.
The boat soon took off and since me and Alex sat in the back all the water was hitting us but it was very fun. Soon enough we were in the middle of the ocean taking in the view when the workers asked if we wanted a water bottle or soda. I asked for a sprite. I drank some of the sprit from the bottle and when I did Alex stole my bottle and drank from it too. This bitch just stole my soda. You stole my soda. He laughed and said whatever you can have it back. Just know what you drink from it again it'll be like you kissed me and I kissed you just thru the bottle. Blank my mind went blank did he just say he kissed me from drinking my soda... what the hell
Once the boat got to its location which was a snorkeling place. Everyone got into their gear and got ready. Both me and Alex were putting our googles and mouth piece when I noticed the googles weren't gonna fit my face. These are too big I told Alex. He leaned down and adjusted my googles and told me I was a loser for not figuring out how to solve the problem on my own. We both got in the water and were pointing to all the fish and cool ocean plants we saw. After that we got back on the boat and we're going back "home" to our resort. In the middle of the trip my mom told us she had to pee so the workers told her to jump in the water and pee. They gave her a life jacket and she jumped in. She yelled for everyone else to jump in too. I jumped in and so did Alex except his dumbass forgot to ask for a lifejacket and he held on to me for dear life. This is way too close for comfort. But it is nice......
Hey stop that he's just trying not to drown! Here we were everyone on the trip chilling out in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. We soon got back to try resort and chilled at the beach for the rest of the day.
The next day was the last and we were all hanging out at the pool. Stop staring at him Kat he's gonna think your weird. Hey Kat take a picture it'll last longer. What's with you ever since my moms wedding night you've been acting weird. Getting all flustered and now staring at me. Crap he thinks I'm weird. I told Alex it was nothing and that he had I was only watching what he was doing because I was bored Nothing else. Nice save Kat... he'll totally fall for that bs. Alex responded with a ok. Oh thank god this boy is clueless
Fast forward now it's the day we are leaving. Me and Alex are chilling at the airport waiting for our flight. Playing Mario kart. We all get on the plane and head back to New York. When we are all off the plane waiting for our cabs and saying our goodbyes. Alex comes behind me and wraps his arms around me and put his head on mine. Uhhh what is he doing. Ima miss you Kat after seeing each other for a week straight to seeing each other once a month. With that Alex gave me one last squeeze and left to go hug everyone else goodbye.
What the actual fuck was that. I've know him for 14 years now and he's never done that. He usual just playfully punches my arm and leaves. Why do I feel hot? Before Alex got in the cab he came up to me and gave me his signature punch on my left arm and asked. Kat why is your face so red did you get sunburned and I just noticed or are you blushing. Well that answers my question. No you idiot I was on a tropical island for a week outside in the burning heat of course I have a sunburn I said while stuttering. And with that he said ok and left.
Why did I have to blush and get flustered.
My sister walked over to me and said sure... you red face is so from that hug he gave you earlier. I quickly defended myself yelling no at her getting even more red from the embarrassment. My sister then said it's ok just admit it you like him. I so do not like him. And with that she left me alone. Why do I have to like my best friend. :(
