Few weeks later
The snow slowly drifts past the window and lands on the drifts of older snow that have been falling all day in Storybrooke. Winter break has been a blessing. Killian went back to class and passed all his finals, he goes to physical therapy on his own, he has been out of his brace for two weeks, is more affectionate and now we are home on Christmas Eve. Honestly right now I couldn’t ask for more.
Killian’s arms wrap around my stomach and he nuzzles his head into my neck. I smile and lean against his warm body.
“Love, you stand by this window any longer and you’ll freeze to death,” Killian murmurs into my neck.
“I am watching the snowfall, its so beautiful. It gives the town a fresh blanket,” I comment. He slowly leaves my side and sinks into the couch.
“Come to the couch with me, its warm and I believe there was a mention of hot cocoa from your mother,” he tries to persuade me to join him. I drag my feet across the carpet and wedge myself next to him on the couch. He wraps his arm around my shoulders and brings me closer to him. Mom and Dad walk in with hot cocoa for us all. We all take our mugs and turn on the charlie brown christmas special. We all turn in early that night.
The next morning we wake and wait for Charlotte to open presents and when she arrives we have a good have a good time. Her and Mom make a lovely dinner that we have later in the day. It is the perfect Christmas.
Later that night Killian and I are doing the dishes. I wash, he dries, and puts them away.
“You know my mum asked me something earlier and I didn’t know how to answer it,” Killian tries to casually bring up.
“What did she ask?” I respond, not missing a beat as I hand him another dish.
“If we have a date for our wedding yet,” Killian says. I tense up a little, but continue to wash another one of my mom’s china plates.
“Come on, Killian you know the answer to that question. We don’t have a date yet,” I sigh.
“We should at least pick that. If we give our parents something it will get them off your back about wedding details and it would be nice to know when I get to start the rest of my life with you,” he says sweetly. I hand him another dish, he dries it and puts it away, all the time waiting for my answer.
“We need a calendar to figure this out definitely, but I like June after we graduate,” I decide. He nods.
“Alright lets finish this then continue this conversation,” he ends our conversation. At rapid speed we finish the dishes and he pulls out a calendar on his phone.
“How about the eighteenth of June? Of the year we graduate,” he clarifies, “Its a saturday right in the middle of the month,” he asks.
“It sounds good to me,” I agree. He kisses my forehead.
“See? That wasn’t too difficult was it?” he asks.
“No, not at all. It just seems so far away, but even more real at the same time. I don’t know its an odd, but exciting feeling,” I say tenderly. He nods. He grabs my hand and we head upstairs to bed.
A few months later
Boxes are stacked all around the apartment. I place my hands on my hips and sigh. The good, the bad, and the ugly happened here. It feels weird to leave and start something new somewhere else. also so liberating because a new start, with old friends near in New York City. It gives me the chills thinking about it. Killian walks through the front door with lunch.
“Well love, you’ve made some progress while I was gone,” he comments as he shuts the door.
“Progress? Killian, I finished packing. Everything we have is in a box,” I say hands on hips. We sit at the table and he starts to take out the chinese food.
“I helped,” he says. I just nod and begin to eat my food. We eat in silence for a few minutes.
“Are you nervous?” I ask anxiously. He shrugs and finishes chewing his food.
“Not really, but I know you are. I just can’t wait for a break and having a new adventure with you,” he says. I grab his hand and he gives it a gentle squeeze. After lunch we start to load the car and trailer attached. I turn our keys in to the landlord. Killian does one last sweep of the apartment and comes up with nothing. We climb into the Jolly Roger and head to the big apple.
It takes a few hours but we arrive in the city during rush hour of course. Once we get to our place the landlord is there waiting for us. he hands us our keys, reminds us when rent is due and scurries back into his apartment. We shrug and begin to move boxes and furniture into our place. The apartment is so small but we are able to fit all of our things in there. Its so small that I can stand in our bedroom and kitchen at the same time, its not ideal, but its for the summer, so I can’t expect too much.
I flop down on the bed and Killian joins me after he’s ordered the pizza.
“Well what do you think?” he asks.
“It could be worse, but its cozy,” I smile, “When’s the pizza going to be here?” I ask.
“Forty five minutes,” he groans.
“I am so hungry,” I whine. He raises his eyebrows.
“I think we can find something to do while we wait for that pizza,” he winks. He wraps his arm around my waist and pulls me close to him. He kisses my neck and moves up to my cheek then finally my lips. Our bodies entangle, along with our tongues.I am in the arms of the man I love and pizza is on the way. I couldn’t think of a better way to start the summer.
So I have an announcement, this will be the last part of life in the jolly roger. I am sorry, but the story is coming to an end. There will be an epilogue. I love this story so much, but everything has to come to an end. As always comment and vote! xoxoxoxo
