Note: I don't know why but I called Logan Jason in the last chapter. Jason is actually a guy that is to be introduced in this chapter. Sorry for the confusion.
Also, little spoiler. The guy who saves Lily doesn't come until later. I am just building it all up to it. :)
Good thing I didn't tell my parents about Jake. What a short relationship that was. One week. If even that. I had never felt so used. And by my own best friend.
But, alas, I found it in my heart to forgive him. I didn't want a relationship in the first place, right? I kept trying to tell myself that. Over and over. I wasn't even halfway through my freshmen year of high school. I had plenty of time to shake this off. Right? Right. I had to keep telling myself that.
And so I begin to try to settle back into my normal schedule. Jake and I were still friends. At least it didn't ruin our friendship. He started dating Daisy and spending a ton of time with her.
What I didn't appreciate though was him bringing her to mine and Logan's table. I felt like he was rubbing it in. And along with her came her little crowd. Who I hated. They were annoying and quite bitchy.
I sighed and decided to just start skipping lunch and hanging out in the library. It was peaceful there. No Daisy blabbing on and on to disturb me.
I was scanning the books on the far end of the library, looking for a new one to read. I loved reading. "Hmmm..." I thought to myself, picking up a particularly interesting book. It was titled ''Nightshade' by Andrea Cremer.
I decided I would check it out. I turned away from the bookshelf to see Jason staring at me. He was a minor friend of mine, a year or two older than I was.
"Hey," he smiled.
"Hi Jason." I said, holding the book up to my chest. Force of habit when a man was staring at me. "What brings you here?" He wasn't one who enjoyed reading.
"Looking for you." His grin only grew.
"Why?" I asked, curious.
"I want your number." He said.
My number? I just shrugged and gave it to him, checked out my book and headed to Algebra where I endured another session of:
"Hey Lily"
"Heeeeey Lily"
"Hey Liiiiily!"
"Hey! Hey! Hey!" Poke, poke, poke.
I sighed in frustration. Once I had finished my horrible math work, I started reading the book I checked out.
It was an interesting book about these people who could shift into the form of a wolf. I liked the main character, Calla Tor, and how rebellious she was.
...
Note: Nightshade is a really good book. You should check it out if you like fantasy.
