My phone vibrated. I groaned. It was 3 AM and I didn't feel like speaking to anyone, but I unlocked my phone anyway and read the message.

Hrt

I sighed. Jake you are drunk again.

I kjis

There was no use in speaking to him when he was drunk. Ever since we had broke up, he fell to drinking and I blamed myself. I shook my head and put my phone down. No use in speaking to him until he sobbered up. I was sort of starting to get over him. At least I didn't cry myself to sleep anymore and I had only cut myself a few times.

I fell asleep.

....

I had gotten over Jake but I was starting to get feelings for someone else. Damn teenage hormones.

I sent Jake a message. Can you do me a favor?

Sure. What is it? He reponded. At least he was sober at the moment and wasn't making complete nonsense.

Can you see if this guy likes me?

Yeah.

Thanks. What do I owe you.

Ten dollars.

Seriously? He was going to make me pay to see if a guy liked me? I sighed and texted back. Okay. I will get you your money.

And so I did. I paid Jake to see if the guy had any sort of feelings toward me. It was money gone to waste because Jake didn't get any information. I had to ask him myself. Since I had the guy's number, I decided to text him.

Hey. This is Lily. Will you go out with me?

Sorry I don't like you in that way. He responded. I shrugged. Oh well. Worth a try. Though I was down ten dollars now.

It was getting close to the end of freshmen year. Man had it been an eventful year. My first romance, which ended badly. I shrugged. Oh well, I could learn from it I guess.

Finally it was the last day of school. I was ready for summer. I really was. No more getting up early. No more school work. No more school stress. Well, until next year. At least I had made it through this year with my sanity in tact.
