The Original Universe, 20**
"You okay?" Philip asks his brother who sighed, plopping down on the couch beside his. "You look awful."
"Yeah. Rough day," Martial grumbled. Philip raised a brow.
"What happened? Aren't you supposed to just track him down and snipe him?"
This was Martial's job at the time. He worked for multiple high-paying millionaires that wanted to eliminate their political opponents. You could say that Martial was a mercenary, and for that, Philip respected him.
Mercenaries were dangerous jobs that take human lives for money. It was disgusting for many, but to Martial, it was a way to secretly earn more money to build a better country.
Martial sighed. "My target realized I was tracking his location. His phone malfunctioned."
Philip blinked before casting him a curious gaze."What does that have to do with anything?"
"Phones malfunction when they're being tracked. Pretty annoying considering that's the most important part of a mission," Martial groaned, leaning forward and burying his face into his hands.
Philip chuckled. "You'll get him. You're the best tracker I know!"
Martial smiled. "Sure."
"You don't seem convinced."
"Russia exists dumbass."
"You're better than him!"
"Sure."
"You're too humble." Philip's rolled his eyes before sighing. "I can't win a single argument when it's with you. Even when it's a compliment."
"Why? Because I'm so smart?" Martial smirked, raising his brow.
"No. You're stupid. And that's exactly why I can't win," Philip retorted. "You stick to one thing. Never open to suggestions. Also, forget about you being humble. I lied."
"That's mean."
"Good."
They both laughed.

Philip woke up from another drowning nightmare to severe aching on his back and nape, realizing that he fell asleep on his couch without changing out of his clothes.
He sighed, standing up and leaning back as a satisfying pop echoed of his back. Stretching his limbs, he walked over to his bag that was still lying on the floor, picking it up and opening it.
The phone he was using could easily be tracked by Martial, so he needed to change it today. Even though he wasn't sure if Martial had trained on spying, he needed to be careful.
Philip examined the device, nodding to himself once he found no tracking devices on it. Mexico could still be working with Martial, but I doubt that. He broke Martial's trust, so he's probably off on his own.
Philip pursed his lips. If it weren't for him, Mexico wouldn't have been caught. God, he was so stupid-
No. Stop thinking like that. Philip raised both his hands and slapped himself on the cheeks. He didn't wince at the pain. You're over that. You shouldn't care about how others feel.
You should adjust to the situation.
He gathered his things, taking his phone and tucking it into his pocket so he would be able to use the GPS. Once he's finished with it, Philip was going to slam it into the ground and break it with his foot.
