**************************

After our hugging session was over, Belinda came out with another china bowl of soup for Askook, who sat down beside me on the ground and sipped his soup. I asked for a second helping, partly because it was yummy, and partly because I wanted a reason to continue sitting outside with Askook.

"Make yourself at home, Courtney. Askook and you can stay outside for a while, but do not stay for long. It while spoil the beauty that you might want to witness at night. Now, I shall be gone and I'll leave you both alone for talking!", Belinda said and scuttled inside the cave.

I sat beside Askook, not saying a word. The silence was enjoyable, especially since I had Askook with me, whose wings kept rustling here and there due to the slightest movement of the air. As strong as he might seem - which is true, he is immensely strong for a dragon - Askook's heart was as fragile as a tuft of feathers.

"I'm indeed quite glad to see you Courtney", he breathed out into the fading evening air. It slowly started growing chilly, and I could see the creamy colour of the moon darkening itself in the sky.

"I'm glad to see you, too, Askook. I wonder how you got so fast to where I was?", I asked.

"Easy. I sensed something, and flew."

Suddenly I found conversation with him, and I forgot that he was actually emitting fire as means of comunication, and not merely talking.

"I know, Belinda told me, but now, what about Aarya? What about Mrs. Russo? Won't she be furious?"

"Yes, I was just having a look out for things in your mansion a while ago, and-"

"Really? Oh my God, tell me, what is happening there? Is Aarya alright? Do Seth and Abigail know? Do the Foxes know? Am I in trouble?"

"One at a time, one at a time, Courtney. Yes, Aarya is alright, and all the four Foxes know", he pasued for a second, then plunged into another round of fire - emission.

"You are in great trouble, and I don't mean to frighten you. But trust me, this is better for you than living in that hell hole. Mrs.Russo was planning to use your ability and then kill you for good."

"My ability, did you say?", I asked.

Askook made an oops! face, and said, "Huh?No, as in your youth. She wanted you to be the next heir!", he smiled.

"Askook, I know you are lying", and then, I felt it.

A sense of sorrow washed over me. I felt like I'd just said something I wasn't supposed to speak out loud, and far away in my mind, I heard, "Don't, Askook, don't"

At first I thought I was imagining stuff, but then it happened again. I looked questioningly at the dragon beside me.

"What?", Askook asked.

"Explain", I replied firmly.

"Courtney, oh my sweet Lord, did you just hear me saying no to myself? Did you feel my mistake?", Askook started being all restless and excited.

"Yes. I mean, I don't know but I heard something in my mind saying that you shouldn't do something. Plus, I also felt like I'd just blabbered something I shouldn't have."

"That means the Bonds are connecting!", Askook fired at me (literally), and then he rushed inside, probably because he was feeling cold. I followed him in, and he was narrating the incident to Belinda.

"...and then she said she felt it!", I saw the flames leap around me, forming those words.

Askook's back was to me, and Belinda looked straight into his eyes. She saw me coming from behind and motioned for Askook to shut up. He obediently kept quiet and slowly turned around.

"Hello, Courtney. Want more soup?",Belinda asked.

"No thank you, why don't you both tell me what is going on?"

"Nothing?", Askook said, and Belinda said, "Nothing Courtney. Now, it will soon be time for the nightfall. You might want to rest before that, it may be a tiresome night, what with sitting on the hard ground for so long and all."

"No, just please. I'm tired of all these unanswered questions. Just please. I haven't accepted living here just to revive the old life, of questions I have that nobody answers. Everywhere around me, people shoot each other suspicious glances when I come around, or stop talking. It's like I'm some sort of plague! Askook, I expect you to be a better teacher?"

"I'm sorry, dear, I know it's hard on you, but-", I cut Belinda off in the middle. The anger that was curled up  inside me for so long finally made way and lashed on poor Belinda and Askook.

"Belinda, I am not talking to you, please stay outta my business."

I hadn't realized how rude I sounded until Belinda dropped her eyes down, nodded and left. I was too angry to deal with her right now. I concentrated on Askook. "So, are you going to tell me, or do I assume you are Mrs.Russo number 2?" I asked firmly.

Askook just shook his head and his ears dropped down.

"Okay, so we go with the later", and with that, I walked outside again.
