Riker's P.O.V
it's been two days since Selena and I last talked. My phone vibrates in the corner, signaling I have a text at least six times a day. But I haven't got up at all. Sometimes Ella comes in and asks me if I'm hungry. I say 'no' and she leaves. I hear my phone vibrate, signaling I'm getting a call. I roll out of bed to get it. Selena.
"Hello?" I answer in a raspy voice.
"R-Riker?" Selena cries.
"I'm here, baby. What's wrong?" I say groggily.
She lets out a sob then sniffles. "Riker, I need you," she sobs.
I throw on some clothes. "I'm on my way, I'll be there in 15 minutes." I say quickly as I run to the bathroom.
She hangs up. I brush my teeth quickly. "Ella!" She comes to the bathroom. "Is it okay if you stay here by yourself for a little bit? I have to go get Selena," I say quickly.
She nods. "Yeah, I'll be fine." She walks away again.
I grab my keys and leave. I drive quickly to Selena's parents' house. i know anxiously on the door. "Riker!" Mandy exclaims. "Selena will not come out of her room," she states.
I nod and run upstairs. I open the door to her room. "Go away," she cries.
I lay down next to her. "Baby, it's just me," I whisper. She turns around and buries her face in my chest. "What's wrong?" I comb my fingers through her hair.
She shakes her head. "I want to come home," she sobs. "I hate being away from you."
I kiss her head for a few seconds. "I know, babe. Are you almost done packing?" I ask as i look down at her.
She looks up. "Yeah, I'm finished now. I just want to go home," she whines as I wipe her tears.
I nod. "Okay, love, lets go." We pack some of her things in my car and the rest in her car. We meet at my apartment and bring everything in. "Ella!" I call.
No response.
"Ella! Where are you?" I yell. I walk to the living room and look at the balcony. The teenager sits in the cold wind outside. I grab my sweatshirt, putting it on and walk outside. "You scared me," I whisper as I sit next to her. She stares blankly at the ocean.
"Are you okay?" Selena asks as she comes out. Ella shakes her head. "What's wrong?" Sel questions as she sits on my lap.
Ell looks over at us, then back to the ocean. "Ella, answer us." I demand.
She does it again. Looking at us, then back at the water. "Salt," she says just above a whisper. "She poured salt on me after she stabbed me."
Selena looks at me confused. I stare back at her with wide eyes. "Who?" Selena asks.
Ella shrugs. "Does it matter? I'm here now, aren't i?" She growls.
"Her biological mother," I whisper to Selena.
"Six years ago today, in fact." Ella adds. "But who cares?" She stands and makes her way into the house.
Selena slides off of me. I run after my daughter. "I care! I need to know you're okay," I say as she falls to the ground. "Which you aren't." She begins crying again, saying no one cares and saying harsh things about herself. Selena walks in, squatting down next to Ella. "I love you, Ella. I need you to believe that," I whisper.
She nods. "I know, I'm just being stupid again. I'm going to my room," she sighs and walks off.
Sel stares at me. "What?" I question confusedly.
"Make sure she's okay," she demand.
I get up and walk to Ella's room. "ELLA!" I scream as I see her handful of antidepressants and water.
