A month later, Ella's P.O.V

"Stop yelling!" I scream over my parents. They go silent as they look at me. "Do you seriously think this is a war? Who the fuck cares what chairs you buy for the God damn balcony!?"

Dad looks at me furiously. "Watch your mouth," he snaps.

"At least I know when something is ridiculous," I spit back before stomping to my room.

For the past month, they've been arguing non-stop.. ABOUT STUPID SHIT! Ugh, it just makes me mad that they don't even know when to shut up.

Someone knocks on the door. "not in the mood," I growl.

"It's just me," uncle Ross says from the other side.

I get up, unlocking the door for him. "Not to be rude but; Why're you here?" I ask as he sits at the computer and I sit on the bed.

He laughs quietly. "Well, I was called over to come and get you. They have some 'moving' to do." He puts air quotes around moving.

"So they're breaking up," I whisper as I look down.

He wheels the chair over to me and rubs my knee. "It'll be okay in the end," he says assuringly. I shrug as a tear falls from my eyes. "Come on, we'll go back to my house and talk there," he says quietly. He extends his hand to me. I take it, grab my phone, and we walk out of my room. Dad look at us weird. "Chill out, she's scared," uncle Ross growls.

We walk to his car. "What was that about?" I ask as I lean my head against the window.

He sighs, gripping the steering wheel with white knuckles. "Your dad thinks because we're two years apart and not biologically related, we have something going on."

"Don't you have a girlfriend?" I huff.

He shakes his head. "She- uh.. She broke up with me," he says as he wipes a tears. "But anyways, what's been up with you? Haven't seen you in a while."

I shrug. "Besides listening to them to constantly scream back and forth, not much," I sigh.

Ross parks the car, facing me. "Why didn't you call me? I wouldn't mind. I would've came to get you!" He wipes my tears.

"I've been so scared lately. I know that Riker would never hit me, but.." I trail off.

Ross nods as he says; "but you've heard his temper gets the best of him."

We get out and go into his empty house. We eat ice cream and watch movies. "Can i ask you a question?" I ask after about an hour.

He nods and swallows the ice cream in his mouth. "Anything," he smiles sweetly.

He runs his fingers through my hair because my head rests on his lap. "I like this guy, but how do I know if he likes me back?" I ask as I look up at him.

He shrugs. "Kiss him and if he kisses back, he likes you."
