Eleven Years Ago...

Maxine and I were currently in a full on make out session in the bathroom at Twist.

Maxine pulled away, slipping my sunglasses back on. "Ok, as much fun as this is, I'm sure the others are waiting for us."

I pressed a quick kiss to her lips. "So what?"

She giggled as she leaned closer to me, setting a pill on her tongue, before capturing my lips once again, transferring the pill to my tongue.

She pulled away as I swallowed it, helping it down with a quick sip of beer.

   "Ready to go?" She asked.

I just nodded before following her back to the bar, where Wendy and Blake were waiting, in the middle of a hushed conversation.

I smiled at them, patting Wendy's shoulder. "So, what're you guys talking about?"

They faced me as I sat down. "Nothing." Blake said.

"Yeah, it's not important." Wendy added.

I nodded, taking a swig of my beer. "Alright, who's up for a game of pool then?"

Wendy shook her head. "Not today."

"Oh, c'mon. Scared I'm gonna beat you again?" I asked.

She rolled her eyes before dropping a few bills on the bar. "You know what, you have fun. I'm just not in the mood for any of this today."

She said goodbye to Blake before storming out.

"What's her problem?" I asked.

Maxine patted my back. "Maybe she's just having a bad day."

I nodded. "Yeah, you're probably right."

Before she could reply, her phone started ringing. She stepped outside as she answered it.

I smiled after her before turning my attention to Blake. "She's great, isn't she?"

But, she didn't answer. Instead, she just looked at me.

"What?" I asked.

"I thought I told you I didn't want you doing that shit in my bar." She replied sternly.

"What're you talking about? I'm not doing anything." I said.

She pulled my glasses off angrily, looking right into my eyes. "You can't bullshit me, Skylar. I've been around for a lot longer than you have. I know where this leads and it isn't good. You're to young to be wasting your time on drugs."

I snatched my glasses back before standing up, putting them back on. "I don't know what the hell you're talking about."

Before this whole thing could boil over, though, Maxine came strolling back inside. "Hey, babe, I gotta run."

"Ok, see you later." I replied, pressing a quick kiss to her lips.

She smiled at me before waving us off.

As soon as the door closed, Blake spoke up. "I think it's time you head out to."

I faced her. "Blake, I told you, I'm clean."

"Bullshit! Look at yourself, you can barely stand up straight and you're sweating all over my floor."

I shrugged. "I'm just tired, ok?"

She gestured at my glasses. "I saw your eyes, Skylar... You promised me you were done..."

"You know what, I don't need this shit." I angrily slammed a few bills on the bar before grabbing my jacket and heading out to my car.
