Chapter 14

   I stood behind the bar, serving drinks with Blake, when Wendy and Rebecca came strolling in.

   "Hey guys, what can I get you?" I asked.

   After grabbing their drinks, Rebecca faced me. "Hey babe?"

   "Yeah?"

   "I had a question." She replied.

   I leaned on the bar. "Shoot."

   "Well, hearing all these stories from your past over the last week got me thinking, did you guys ever actually have fun?"

   I chuckled. "Of course we did. There was that time Blake got drunk and wrecked that rental car."

   "Ah, the good old days." Blake cut in, causing us to laugh.

   "Then there was that time Wendy and I broke into the school and got arrested." I continued.

   "You call that fun?" Wendy asked.

   I shrugged. "Sure, why not?"

   She rolled her eyes before taking a sip of her beer.

   I rubbed my chin. "There was always something fun to do, even when something bad was waiting around the corner."

   Rebecca looked at me thoughtfully. "Ok, what was the best day of your life?"

   "Easy, the day I met you." I replied.

   She smiled. "Really?"

   I nodded, planting a quick kiss to her lips. "Of course."

   "You guys would be nauseating if you weren't so damn cute." Wendy said.

   We all laughed a little.

   "What about the day before you met me?" Rebecca asked.

   I rubbed the back of my neck, thinking hard. "It was just a normal day if I remember right."

   "Normal?" Wendy cut in.

   "Yeah, if I remember right, that was the day we all got drunk and went skinny dipping in one of the water traps at the country club golf course." Blake added.

   Rebecca laughed. "Now this I have to hear."

   "Alright alright, so maybe it wasn't totally normal. But those yuppies had it coming..."

Eight Years Ago...

   Wendy, Leslie and I sat at the bar while Blake took orders.

   "So, what're you guys up to today?" Wendy asked.

Blake and Leslie shared a look and a shrug.

"Nothing really. Why? Got something in mind?" Leslie asked.

"I don't know, I've just been super bored lately. I feel like we haven't done anything crazy in a long time." She replied.
