I walked back into Twist, seeing Rebecca sitting at the bar.

I planted a quick kiss to her lips before making my way behind the bar.

"Everything ok?" Rebecca asked.

I nodded. "Yeah, just clearing some things up."

She nodded. "So, Blake tells me you kissed Wendy."

   I turned on Blake. "Really?"

   She shrugged. "What? She asked."

   I rolled my eyes. "Right."

Rebecca laughed. "It's fine, she told me the whole story. Speaking of, whatever happened to that Maxine girl anyway?"

I let out a breath. "Well, I spent a month or two in rehab and after I got out, I broke it off with her. I put as much distance between us as possible."

"Last we heard, she moved to New York." Blake added.

   "Good riddance." Rebecca said.

I nodded. "Yeah... But, everything kinda went back to normal after that. Blake started officially dating Leslie, Wendy and I were closer than ever. Life was actually going smoothly for a while..."

Ten Years Ago...

The bar went quiet as I lined up my shot. "Eight ball, corner pocket."

I took the shot, sinking it.

Everyone cheered, except Wendy. "Alright, I'm officially done playing with you." She said.

I chuckled as I collected my bet money from a few surrounding patrons. "It's not my fault you're a sore loser."

She shook her head, making her way back to the bar.

I gave the surrounding crowd a small bow before following her.

Blake set two beers out as we took our seats. "You know, you're becoming quite the legend around here." She said.

I patted myself on the back, taking a sip of my beer.

Wendy rolled her eyes. "Don't tell her that, her ego's big enough as it is."

   We laughed.

"Well, that's because she hasn't played me yet." Leslie said, a sly smirk on her face.

We all turned to her before refacing each other.

Wendy patted my shoulder. "Twenty on Skylar."

Blake pulled a twenty from her wallet. "Don't let me down, Leslie"

I nodded to Leslie. "Whenever you're ready."

She nodded back, getting to her feet. "You're on."

After a close game, I barely inched out the victory, collecting my bet money once again.

Before I could reach the bar though, my phone started ringing.

I answered it as I made my way outside. "Hello?"

"Hey, it's mom, could you grab Beth from school?" She asked.

I checked the time on my phone before answering. "It's like four o'clock, shouldn't she be home already?"

My mom sighed. "She had after school detention. Again."

I rolled my eyes slightly. "What's gotten into her?"
