April 2014 Sokovia, Eastern Europe
Soldiers ran through the snowy terrain, waiting for the attack which had been out of nowhere and the Avengers were working together for the first time since the alien attack on New York. Everyone had their part to play in the attack, shutting down this Hydra base and taking back the sceptre which had been taken from Shield by the corrupted agents on the inside. Clint fired arrows towards any soldiers that were coming their way and Natasha drove them closer to the base, kicking any stragglers out of the way so that their path was cleared. Tony flew above them in his Iron Man suit, shooting at soldiers that were closer to the base and narrowing the number of threats down so that when they got closer, they had less to worry about; whilst Thor hopped onto different tanks, blowing up anything that could become a threat. His roar echoes throughout the forest, as he uses his hammer to jump onto a tower and knocks out a handful of soldiers that had been shooting at them from above.
Meanwhile, Steve drives his motorcycle through the forest, knocking soldiers to the ground with the speed of his vehicle and Noelle holds on tightly to him with one hand as her other hand holds a gun; shooting down anyone that they miss on their way. In order to clear the path, Steve throws his shield ahead of them and dodges the explosions that were being set off around them. Narrowly, he manages to dodge an exploding car which Hulk picked up and threw back towards the soldiers that were attacking them. It seemed that no matter how many soldiers they were taking down, more appeared and had just as many weapons as the ones before. They knew that they needed to get into the base in order to complete the mission and find the sceptre but that was going to be difficult if they couldn't get anywhere near it. Iron Man flew ahead, flying right into the grounds of the base but then got knocked backwards by an invisible forcefield surrounding the base. "Shit!"
"Language!" Steve warned him, before talking to the programme which Tony had created and easily came in handy during times like these. "Jarvis, what's the view from upstairs?"
"The central building is protected by some kind of energy shield. Strucker's technology is well beyond any other Hydra base we've taken." Jarvis answered.
Thor jumped to the ground, using his hammer to knock out a handful of soldiers that were around him and spoke over the radio to the rest of the team. "Loki's sceptre must be here. Strucker couldn't mount this defence without it." Then he mumbled under his breath, thinking about the sceptre that he had been chasing for many years. "At long last."
Further along the forest and Natasha uses a grenade to blow up a truck, fighting whatever soldiers were left behind but pausing to talk to the team. "At long last is lasting a little long, boys." She stands her ground, shooting another soldier over her shoulder and checking that the coast was clear for the area she was in.
"Yeah, I think we lost the element of surprise." Clint huffed, as he hid behind the closest tree and shot arrows whenever there was a window of opportunity.
