Once the funeral was over and Noelle had taken both Bucky and Morgan to get burgers, the time came for the time heist to finally get put to bed. The last part of the mission was clear, they needed to return the stones to the exact place and time that they came from, so that the timeline wasn't affected in any drastic way. Due to the number of Pym Particles, they had left, it was decided that only one person would go because having a team of people involved would just make things more complicated and the Avenger that offered to take the risk, was of course, Steve Rogers. He was the only one that was brave enough to go back in time by himself and risk putting the stones back; if he got one stone in the wrong place then it could have terrible consequences but that was a risk that they had been willing to take when they took the stones in the first place. Steve didn't want a massive fuss as he was preparing for his journey but was glad to see some of his friends come to the edge of the woods, to wish him luck on his journey.

Bruce was there because he was the only one who knew how to work the time machine but Sam, Bucky and Noelle had come as moral support for their friend. Steve was nervous about travelling back and returning the stones because there was a lot more riding on this than anything else that they had to do but he also knew that he could only trust himself to do the job perfectly. As he was preparing to leave, it felt as though there was something else brewing in the air and the atmosphere was changing. There was tension between them, even though they had no idea why they were feeling slightly worried about this journey when they shouldn't because some of them had done it before. Bruce was reminding him of the job that he needed to do, wanting to make the mission very clear so that nothing went wrong because last time they did the time heist, there were several mistakes made. Steve and Tony had to use their Pym Particles to travel back to the 70's to retrieve the Tesseract and they had brought back the wrong Nebula to Earth, who ended up bringing Thanos straight to the compound and caused a lot of destruction which could have been avoided.
"Remember, you have to return the stones to the exact moment you got them or you're going to open up a bunch of nasty alternative realities."
"Don't worry, Bruce." Steve smiled to him as he shut the briefcase which was holding all six of the Infinity Stones and was arguably one of the most important briefcases in the entire world. "Clip all the branches."
Bruce looked down, taking a moment to think about the people that were missing from the equation, one person in particular that had had a lasting impression on many of them. "You know, I tried. When I had the gauntlet, the stones, I really tried to bring her back. I miss her, man."
"Me too." He nodded at his friend.
Noelle placed her hand on top of Bruce's hand, forcing a smile on her face because even though she was keeping it together, she was still grieving the loss of one of her closest friends. "She's proud of you Bruce, we all are."
