After receiving the most beautiful marriage proposal, Bondita was sobbing in Anirudh's arms, wondering what she had done to deserve such a man. He stroked her hair and held her close as they sat on the grass together, his own eyes wet.
This was why he couldn't just fill her hairline with vermillion. This was the reason why he refused his Kaka over and over again. It wasn't because he was stubborn or didn't want to marry her.
He wanted to give Bondita all the happiness she deserved. He wanted to make every moment special for her. He wanted to shower her with these blissful moments that moved her to the core.
And as he held Bondita in his arms, Anirudh Roy Choudhary vowed to himself, that no matter what happened in the future, he would continue to move Bondita like this. Over and over again. He would continue to make her feel special for the rest of his life.
Finally, Bondita pulled back from the hug and looked up at his eyes.
"Thank you," she told him tearfully. "Thank you for everything."
Anirudh reached forward to wipe the tears from her cheeks.
"Bondita, thank you," he said to her lovingly.
Bondita didn't know why he was thanking her. He had done everything for her. He had turned her whole life around and he was thanking her.
She didn't know when she would recover from this. She just threw her hands around him again, this time toppling him over.
Bondita wasn't going to let go this time. She didn't care that they were in the open, she didn't care that they might have places to go. Bondita just wanted to hold him for the rest of eternity.
Anirudh smiled, and he held her to him too, as they spent a few moments lying on the grass together.
"Bondita," Anirudh whispered. "We should go."
"Shhh Pati Babu," she responded. "You always tell me to stop worrying and enjoy the moment. Now you do it."
She closed her eyes, enjoying the blissful feeling of being in his arms. There was nothing that Bondita wouldn't do for him. Anirudh just held her to him, enjoying all the moments that they got to spend outside of the haveli.
They wouldn't get much alone time at home, but now that Bondita accepted his proposal, he knew that their marriage would be on the cards soon. It was only a matter of time.
After some time, they finally left the park together, and Anirudh took her to his office. It was a private office room in a building full of legal related offices.
"You can work from here until you get your own office," he told her with a smile, locking the door behind them.
"My own office?" Bondita asked, surprised.
"Yes," Anirudh said, and took her inside, seating her down on the chair which was behind the desk. "You will have everything of your own."
"But I want to work with you Pati Babu," Bondita told him, pouting.
Anirudh sat on the desk and tapped her cheek lovingly.
"In the beginning that's fine, but you'll be big Bondita," he told her, his eyes reflecting a dream-like state. "You'll be so huge that you'll surpass me."
"That's not possible!" Bondita argued, looking up at him.
Seeing him on the desk like that was making her heartbeats get faster. After the events of today, she wanted to just jump on him and kiss him passionately, and him sitting on the desk looking so handsome was not making it any easier for her.
