Everyone spent an hour in the gloomy weather, waiting for the verdict in silence, but still nothing has yet to come. Jadis and Aslan still were in the tent discussing about Edmund's fate. Edmund's nerves began to take over as he became fidgety.

Who can blame him though? He had every right to be nervous considering that Jadis had brought up the tradition about killing traitors.

The four siblings and myself sat in a circle. Edmund tried to keep distracted as he pulled grass out of the ground violently. Peter nudged my shoulder as he turned his head towards the tent and stood up. Murmurs carried throughout the camp...

The decision has been made.

Everyone jumped to their feet the moment Jadis threw open the curtains as she stocked out. She stared at Edmund as she descended down from the rock with Aslan watching her every move as he took his stance before the crowd. I walked to Edmund's side, glancing at his side to see his pulse in his neck move quickly in pace.

Aslan peered at the boy, sorrow and sympathy filled his eyes, "She has renounced her claim on the Son of Adam's blood."

Cheers replaced the once silent crowd. Joy filled my body as I hugged Edmund and without thinking, I leaned up and kissed him.

Edmund's arms found their place on my waist as he responded to the kiss. The sound of someone clearing their throat made us quickly part to see Peter standing before us with a smirk as he and his sisters joined in on our hug.

When we parted, Edmund laced his hand within mine, a blush formed onto my cheeks. When I glanced up into the sky I smiled, the once gloomy sky, had now changed into a clear sunny sky.

"How do I know your promise will be kept!" Jadis yelled over the joyous cheers.

Aslan roared aggressively at the witch, Jadis sat down into her chair in fear, making everyone laugh at her cowardness.

Everyone went back to celebrating, the Pevenise clan all hugging once more, but me.

What promise did she mean?

When I peered back at Aslan, his whole demeanor changed. A once strong standing lion, has now changed into a more vulnerable one. Something that Aslan has never been, that's how I know for a fact something is very wrong. As if he could read my thoughts, Aslan peered at me.

His eyes saying one thing, I'm sorry.

"What's wrong with Alsan, Sera?"

I glanced down to see Lucy's smile fading as she too takes in Aslan's composure, "I have no idea."

Aslan solemnly walked away from his people.

Nightfall came, everyone was asleep... well, everyone besides me. Sleep never came to me as I laid on my side in Lucy, Susan, and I's tent.

"Seraphina?"

"Hmm," I hummed in response at Lucy, "Can't sleep either?"

She sighed, "No. I can't get Aslan's face our of my mind. He seemed so... sad, when it was suppose to be a time to celebrate. We finally get to keep Edmund safe from her, so why would he be sad about that?"

Edmund's joyous face popped in my head.

The way you could practically see the weight lifting from his shoulders as the verdict became public, but the way Jadis said the word promise. She said it with such venom. "I think it has something to do with whatever promise he made with the White Witch. Whatever it is, it can't be good and it's the thing that made her change her mind about Ed."
