Susan, Lucy, and I hid further behind the trees as Jadis' people left the area... getting ready for the battle that's approaching when dawn comes. The moment we saw the coast clear, we all ran to the dead body that was left at the top of the structure. A single tear sprung down my cheek as I saw the horror in front of me. Our true king, the one that had always brought Narnia the hope and the encouragement we needed, was dead.

I knelt next to Aslan, petting his head as I leaned towards his ear, "May we meet again."

Lucy pulled out her vile, a vile that's supposed to heal the wounded, hoping that she could revive the lion. I placed my hand on her's to stop her as I shook my head with a weak smile. "It's too late," Susan softly said, "He's gone."

Susan walked around the table, stepped up the stairs, and sat behind Aslan, "He must have known what he was doing."

"If Aslan didn't give his life," I pushed back a strand of my hair, "This would be Edmund." A sob came out from me at the thought of Ed being killed. The thought became unbearable as I shook my head violently as threw myself onto Aslan as I cried.

Squeaking broke me out of my cries. When I brought my head up, mice were climbing on top of the lion. "Get away! Get away, all of you," Susan cried.

Lucy peered down at the small creatures, her mind focused on what they were doing, "No. Look."

As we stared at what the mice where doing, the ropes that once tied Aslan, were coming undone. The mice were ripped them off their king.

"We have to tell the others," Susan said as she stared between us.

Lucy's eyes widened, "We can't just leave him!"

"Lucy, there's no time. They need to know."

I looked over at Lucy, "The trees, Lucy. They already know." The leaves of the trees around us began rustling, sending the message of Aslan's death.

The dawn came upon us as we still sat besides Aslan. The sky grey, everyone in the kingdom was feeling the loss of our great king. None of us wanting to leave him because if we do, we are accepting the fate of him. At the same time, my people were waiting for me to join them in our fight.

"We should go," Susan glanced at her sister with sympathy.

I pushed myself off of Aslan, "She's right, Lucy. I need to be apart of that fight."

Susan and I got off the stone table. Lucy looking at us, defeated, "I'm so cold," as she got off. The three of us walked sadly away from the lion.

As we reached the stairs, a rumbling could be heard. The stairs cracked right in the middle, making Susan and I fall to our knees. "Susan," Lucy cried.

We all turned our head back to the table where we left Aslan, only to see it cracked in the middle, but missing the body.

I stood up and carefully walked towards the table, "Where did he go?"

"Where's Aslan?" Lucy questioned as she looked all around us.

Susan walked closer to the table, "What have they done?"

Suddenly, the sun came out and the grey clouds began to disappear. In the distance straight ahead, I saw the shadow of a lion, Aslan. I sighed of relief as he came into view, standing stronger than ever.

"Aslan!"

"Aslan!"

Us three girls ran for him, happy that he's back to us because without him, we would all be lost in this fight against the White Witch. As we hugged the lion, he began laughing at our joyfulness. I let go of him, stepping back to make sure that I haven't gone mad, "I- I don't understand. How?"

Susan let go, "Yeah. We saw the knife. The Witch."

Aslan smiled at us, "If the Witch knew the true meaning of sacrifice," we began walking to the stairs slowly, "she might have interpreted the Deep Magic differently. That when a willing victim who has committed no treachery is killed in a traitor's stead, the Stone Table will crack, and even death itself will turn backwards."

"Did you really know that you were going to be given your life back Aslan," I asked as I smirked down at him, "or was it a gamble you were willing to play."

He chuckled, "As a leader, you have to be willing to do anything to save your subjects."

"So in other words, you didn't know?"

He shook his head playfully at me, "No. I didn't know."

Susan placed her hand onto my shoulder, "We sent the news that you were dead. Peter and Edmund will have gone to war."

Lucy pulled out her blade, "We have to help them."

Aslan chuckled at the girl's excitement, "We will, dear one, but not alone." He pushed the blade down, "Climb on my back. We have far to go and little time to get there. And you may want to cover your ears."

A powerful, loud roar came from Aslan. Letting everyone in the kingdom, far and wide, that he is alive and back to fight for his home.

We rode for a while, until I noticed a familiar building in the distance. "Is that-"

"Yes," Aslan cut me off, "We have people in there that are more than willing to fight today. As their revenge."

We entered through the front heavy ice doors, and the image before us made my heart fall out of my chest. Frozen statues of people decorated the room, the same statues that Jadis turned my people and my father into. Lucy tore out running, Susan and I followed her, until I gasped in shock.

Mr. Tumnus stood before us. Lucy began sobbing as I began to breath heavily and quickly. Guilt went through my body. I felt guilty that he became this. I could've done something more. I should've, but I don't know what I could've done, anything would have helped though.

Aslan walked up from behind us, and blew air onto Mr. Tumnus. Suddenly, his frozen state, defrosted as groans came from him. He began to fall forward and in an instant, Lucy was there to catch him. He let go of her once he could balance himself, and the pair began laughing, happy to be in each others presence once more.

"Susan, this is-"

Lucy was cut off by her sister, "Mr. Tumnus!" She hugged him.

He let go of her and peered at me with a wide smile as he embraced me, "Princess Seraphina! Thank goodness you are okay!"

I laughed, "Thank god you are okay!"

"Come, we must hurry and search the castle," Aslan broke us out of our happy moment and as we turned we saw dozens of defrosted creatures, "Peter will need everyone we can find."
