Three years later

III.

- Trish -

Three years have passed after I thought that I was gonna die that night. But, guess what here I am, still alive and now working as a waitress in a five-star hotel. The salary is good, but not enough to pay all the daily expenses so I have to work part-time jobs here and there. Besides, I just got lucky that someone hired me despite my background. But, nothing's changed. My life still sucks, I don't care if I die now, later, or whenever.

                    Charlie:

Hey girl, are you free tomorrow? We needed extra people at my job. Hit me up if you're available, okay? Luv u

I got a text from Charlie and luckily I've just finished my shift and about to go home. Just like I said, I needed the money so I think I'm gonna go for this one. Though I don't know much about where Diane's working but, I guess it's worth the try.

                    To: Charlie

Yo, thanks for the offer. Yeah, I'm down for it. Fortunately, I don't have work tomorrow and the following day

                      Charlie:

Omg, that's great!!! I'll pick u up at your apartment and we'll discuss the deets

The next morning

was up early because Charlie would be picking me up and we're gonna go I don't know where to discuss the job that she offered last night.

-Beep-

                        Charlie:

I'm here!! Hurry up we're gonna be late

I rushed down my apartment immediately and saw Charlie smiling so wide that it seems like the angels have embraced her before coming here.

"You're annoying u know that right?" – I uttered as I sat on the passenger seat

"Good morning to you too bestie" she continued smiling widely and I just gave her a smirk

"So, spill the details Charlie"

"Ugh, is that how you greet your best friend early in the morning? I'm annoyed"

"You can be annoyed at me all you want, you already know that this is just me" I replied while rolling my eyes at her

"Nevermind, I still love you baby trishhhh" – Ugh, I cannot argue with this human being and honestly, I can never get annoyed with her ever. Charlie has been my best friend for three years now, and she has been trying to help me all throughout. I'm just really grateful for her.

"So Trish, I'm pretty sure you're gonna hate me or love me for this but I also know you needed the extra cash, and this one's big. So, please don't scold me for this" – she uttered and I can see her worried face even if she's staring at the road

"I'll try, you're gonna pay me if this doesn't work Charlie" – I replied while looking at her. I know how tense she can be when I used that tone so I teased her with that reply

"Uh,,, I really hope you'll love me more for this baby"

I didn't bother to ask her for more details about the job that she has offered, after all, I am really grateful for Charlie. I know all she wants was to help me and I could never be angry at her for whatever this job might be.

1 hour has passed and we finally arrived at the location, there at least twenty plus people in the area, and everyone was busy doing stuff.

"Uh, Charlie is this what I think this is?" – she looked at me with hesitation

"Uh, uhm, yeah? We're here. So, this is what you think this is" – she tried smiling with her fingers crossed

"Oh" – that was all the answer that I managed to utter as I gasped deeply
