- Cate -
There were just a number of people who were allowed in the room as I do my photoshoot. Every time I had a chance, I would steal glances at Trish whose standing behind the media team. No emotions and seems very uninterested.
She doesn't seem to notice me, even a bit
Am I that old and unattractive that I cannot get a single glance from her?
I want our eyes to meet once more, I want to see some emotions from her and so I would not stop stealing glances until I can see that pretty and innocent face again.
I am this desperate. Ugh.
"Okay, give me a vibrant pose for this last one Cate" the photographer requested
As I look towards Trish, I saw her smiling and that pushed me to radiate a vibrant pose for the photographer as what he wanted me to do.
She smiled but not at me and not for me. She's busy with her phone though, but nevertheless I'm glad.
"Thank you so much for your time Cate, I'll see you next month for our next event"
"You're welcome Kevin! I had fun" I replied and gave him a nod
But, in all honesty, I just had fun because I knew Trish was there accompanying me and I knew that she'll be there until the end of the photoshoot.
"Miss Cate, the two other photoshoots were rescheduled. Do you think you can squeeze the invitation from the art gallery of Miss Monique? Don't worry, it's a highly exclusive event, so no paparazzi, just the authorized ones. Also, I'll make sure to send someone to accompany you just in case you need something" Justin uttered giving me a smile
"Okay, but the rest of you can go home and rest. Let's just do my make up here so that I can head to that event without bringing the glam team" I think its best that I send the rest of the team home since its an exclusive event and besides it's my last event for today
An hour has passed and we've arrived in Monique's gallery. As Justin has said, it's an exclusive event so the guests were really limited but highly profiled individuals which I can recognize. Jennifer Aniston, Meryl Streep, Dolly Parton, Julie Andrews, Amy Adams, Sofia Vergara, and some theater actresses were present too.
"Oh my god, the great Cate Blanchett. Thank you so much for coming. I have to pull my resources to persuade your manager, I guess I'm lucky enough though"
"Oh Monique, anything for you dear" I replied as I held her hand. "Besides, you know how I love supporting these kinds of events. I heard; you have collaborated with a prominent theater stakeholder for this?" I added
"Yeah, it's actually Mr. Harris and his wife. Oh, God, you have to meet them. I'm pretty sure you'd be amazed by how they organize things like these and most of the proceeds were donated to various foundations and organizations mostly for kids and aspiring musicians"
"I am truly impressed, I knew Mr. Harris but I am not aware of his wife, maybe sometime soon I am privileged enough to meet them" I can already sense the dedication of this couple based on Monique's fascination. Take note, she's that individual who cannot be impressed by just anybody, she's a tough one as what people say.
"Uhm, her wife's very private and she doesn't really participate in these events but I heard she'll be coming for next week. So, I guess I can invite you? They'll be hosting the "I Am One with Music" event and that would be a great time for you to meet their whole family" Monique exclaimed with excitement
"Really? Okay sure!! I'd be honored to meet them if that's the case" I giggled
"Yeah, I'll text your manager the details, okay? But for now, please enjoy the crowd and the drinks"
"Oh, honey I am"
"I'll be going now, and please don't forget to bring your plus one" Monique winked as she gracefully waved a goodbye
I adore how Monique has magnificently pulled all these together. She's really one of the best.
I needed another drink, so I walked towards the mini-bar but I didn't expect the sight that I am seeing right now. I didn't even know if this is true or not.
I saw Trish and Aubrey giggling.
She's smiling
And she's even laughing?
After three years, and ever since she arrived at the set earlier, she was emotionless, quiet, and reluctant. Just a day with Aubrey and she's that comfortable already?
