I S A B E L L A

-Saturday-

"WHERE THE FUCK IS SHE?!" I jolted up from my bed and immediately hit the hard floor, my left arm hitting the edge of the bed while the other one was above my head, My head thankfully hit the edge of a pillow that was probably thrown to the ground in my sleep. I wasn't going to sugarcoat it, I was an ugly sleeper. The nights were full of pillows falling on the floor, blankets at the edge of the bed and my hair was completely messy.

I had slept very well until this booming voice woke me up. It was Elijah's. He was mad because I didn't show up yesterday from school. I heard other mumbling voices and some footsteps too. They weren't entering my room though, so I was safe for the moment.

I didn't know what Elijah was going to do and it gave me goosebumps thinking about it. He was in the mafia after all, so I had a right to be scared. He was capable of anything.

I stood up and walked to the bathroom. My feet were heavy and I felt the cold floor. My clothes were still on from yesterday and my mascara was a smeared all over my face even though I didn't remember using any. I groaned internally, preparing myself for the great amounts of accusations.

Another day, another madness.

I brushed my teeth and combed through my hair. It had multiple knots and it took a while until it was untangled. I put it into a low bun and just kept on the clothes from yesterday, the mascara now off through a wet towel.

My phone screen showed that it was 8:34 AM, which was too early to be this loud. My brothers always slept in, if it wasn't for school, which they missed because of the wedding. I heard discussions downstairs and cursed at myself when I saw the bat that was leaning against the wall next to my bedroom door.

I hadn't had the chance to give it back to Hunter yesterday. I had to give it back to him today, but by the mood that Elijah was in, he wasn't going to let it slide. Just the information that I considered a boy as my friend, drove them crazy.

I peeked outside my door, the corridor was empty and it was quiet. I took all my courage that was left and took a few steps outside, being as quietly as possible, so that none of them could hear me. It felt fake, this silence, as fake as this barbie at my school. My brothers were just arguing a second ago and now there was.....simply nothing. As if they had heard me open my door, which didn't make any sound as I made sure of it. Could they look through walls?

Wouldn't be surprised if they were werewolves too.

I probably shouldn't have done what I was about to do in the next few seconds, but I did it anyways. A small "Hello?", escaped my lips, as if I was in a horror movie. The silence was scaring me again.

I took a few steps down the stairs, the carpet embracing my bare feet gently. One hand was placed on the railing as if I was about to fall any second. The only thing that was missing were the flickering lights. I was halfway down as I heard something behind me. The creaking of the floor made it obvious that somebody was standing behind me. Before I could turn around fully I was grabbed by my waist and lifted over the person's shoulder, so that my head was banging against their lower back.

"Let me go!", I hammered my fists against the white shirt that the person was baring until a voice interrupted me. "Think twice, I'm stronger and faster than you. I could easily get you on the floor in a fight, so stop." The dark curls were familiar. Only Elijah and William had them, and because this brother was way taller than Elijah, it was William. I was doomed. William only came out of his office if it was serious and by the looks of it, I had really got myself in trouble.
