Gaius knelt down beside the body of the villager. Merlin and Aurora stood to the side, not wanting to touch the body lying face down on the floor. "Aren't you scared?" Merlin asked, and Gaius glanced up briefly. "Of what?" He replied. "Of catching whatever it is." Merlin explained, and Gaius pulled back until he sat up on his knees.
"I'm the Court Physician, Merlin, its part of my job. Most of the time, there's nothing really to be scared of." Gaius flipped the man over, revealing his pasty white face. Aurora reared back, gripping Merlin's hand. The man's eyes were completely white and his blue veins had risen to the surface, straining against his skin. Gaius gasped, looking at the siblings in shock.
"You were saying?" Aurora asked, and Gaius struggled for an answer. "We mustn't let the people see this. They'll panic." Merlin stood up, grabbing a spare sheet of fabric and laying it over the body just as two villagers walked past, staring down at the three in confusion.
They lugged the body into a cart, beginning to wheel it back to Gaius' house. Aurora trailed behind, helping to push as Gwen joined them, holding a bouquet of purple flowers. "What are you doing?" She asked, and Merlin left his post to come to Aurora's side. "Um... just moving something." He replied, and Gwen commented on how heavy it looked. Aurora held back a laugh, sure that the villager, if he were still alive, would protest immediately that he was in fact, not heavy at all.
"Nothing really." Aurora smiled, acknowledging the flowers in Gwen's hands. "Someone got you flowers?" "Oh, no," Gwen giggled, "Would you two like some?" She offered, and Merlin nodded as Gwen pulled one out for him. "A purple one. Purple suits you. Not that I'm saying red doesn't suit you!" She rambled as she pulled out another for Aurora. "Thanks, well..." Merlin looked for a place to put the flower, and settled on the gap between his scarf and his neck. He smiled, and Gwen returned it.
Aurora glanced back at Gaius, feeling like she was interrupting something, and she scuffed her feet on the ground. "Uh, see you." Merlin said, and Gwen's smile dwindled slightly. "Bye. Oh, Aurora, these are for Morgana. Would you care to come with me?" Aurora smiled, nodding as she wished not to deal with the body of the villager.
Aurora had noticed the wistful smile gracing Gwen's face as Merlin had walked away, and she knew she had to mention it. The two were drawing close to Morgana's chambers. "Gwen? I couldn't help but notice the... tension, persay, between you and my brother?" She glanced sideways at the darker girl, and watched her cheeks flush. "Oh, no! I- I don't mean that in a nasty way. Merlin's lovely, but i- he's not my type." Gwen stuttered.
The ginger girl laughed, shaking her head lightly as Morgana's door came to view. Gwen entered first, followed by Aurora, and Morgana met them with a large smile. "You look happy." She commented, and Aurora admired the blue and purple fabric of her dress as it fit her figure perfectly. "I picked these for you." Gwen replied, holding out the flowers in front of her for Morgana to take.
