The Last Day Of School

Hermione, like most of her friends, was happy to be finished with school. It wasn't for the same reasons that she didn't want to go to school at the beginning of the year, it was quite the opposite. She was now being introduced to the real wizarding world. She would get a job and start a family, or something of the sorts.

In just one day she would be getting onto the Hogwarts Express for the last time in her life. Except this time they had an addition to their group. Draco Malfoy.

She had never imagined herself to be friends with Draco Malfoy, and she especially never thought she would be Draco Malfoy's girlfriend, but over the past few months Hermione had had enough shocks that she really wouldn't be surprised at much anymore.

Ginny had had a pregnancy scare, Ron had tried to find love although not much worked out for him, George opened up the joke shop again and proudly told his family that he was dating Angelina Johnson, Lee Jordan started dating Oliver Wood, and Harry had told her that he planned to propose to Ginny and ask her to move into Grimmauld Place with him.

The past year had been a bit rough for everybody in their own way, but now everything was coming together and with everything that had happened between her friends, it only seemed to bring them closer together.

"Hermione, what do you plan on doing after school is over?"

She came out of her trance at the sound of her best friend, Harry. "I'm not sure. I think I want to travel for a bit and try building a relationship with my parents again. Then I think I'll get a job at the Ministry. We all know how many job offers I've received there."

"You'd be great working at the Ministry. In a few years I could possibly be with the new Minister of Magic." Draco said proudly, wrapping his arm around her waist.

She smiled up at him and turned to face the Black Lake. The waters were still and fish occasionally jumped into the air before falling back into the water. they had been lucky that it hadn't rained today and they could all spend it out by the lake.

Exactly where it all started.

Who knew that two people who were once enemies and fought on two different sides of the war could fall into a love that was supposed to be forbidden just because of an accidental meeting at a lake in the middle of the night.

Their midnight rendezvous still happened even after Harry and Ron had finally come to terms with her relationship. She found it was a way to hide from other people and for the two of them to be alone. No slurs shouted, nobody calling Draco a Death Eater, and nobody sending glares in their direction every time they walked to class together.

Having their relationship become public had been hectic. Students had been confused as to why their Golden Girl was with the likes of Draco, and many adults weren't afraid to voice their opinions. The Daily Prophet and Witch Weekly had a field day selling the news in their papers. Neither of them minded because Draco was finally with the girl he had been fantasizing about since fourth year, and Hermione was happy with who she was with and she knew her friends were supportive.

Harry and Ron had spoken to the Prophet and told them that they were supportive of their relationship. That had made the news blow up again, but not exactly in a bad way.

"I finally got accepted into Auror training. I'm not sure why they wouldn't let me in with no questions asked." said Ron

"That's amazing, Ron." Hermione said happily, beaming at her friend, "Are you going to start with Harry?"

"Yeah," Ron replied, "We start right after the summer holidays. The schedule is a bit packed, but I think It'll be fun. I think I'll stay there for a few years and see if I like it or not. If I don't like it I'll see if any Quidditch teams are looking for a new Keeper."
