Today was the day. Clara was officially trying out for the Gryffindor quidditch team. She was beyond excited, looking forward to playing her favorite sport again. She hadn't slept well the night before the excitement overwhelming her sleepiness. She wasn't nervous, James had all but guaranteed her a spot. James and Clara grew quite close over the previous weeks. The both of them very keen on discussing quidditch strategy. She noticed that Sirius grew more and more agitated as Clara spent time with James. She tried her best to ignore it blaming it on Sirius being a moody teenager. One minute he was her friend laughing over the silliest things, the next he would be ignoring her or saying rude off hand comments about her. It gave Clara whiplash; she wasn't sure which Sirius she would get on a day-to-day basis. She adored the happy care-free Sirius but couldn't stand when he got in one of those moods.
Clara put on an old Ilvermorny practice uniform smiling at the Thunderbird emblem before making her way down to the Great Hall for breakfast. It was still early, seven in the morning, especially for a Saturday. She was alone today all the other girls were still sleeping when she got up.
She walked into the Great Hall and saw three familiar boys: James, Sirius, and Peter. Clara hadn't had many encounters with the fourth Marauder Peter, he wasn't in any of her classes this year, but he was around James, Sirius, and Remus quite a bit. She decided to sit down next to James, Sirius and Peter opposite her.
"Today's the big day, you ready cap?" Clara asked with excitement in her voice.
"I've been waiting for this day my entire life." James grinned. "I think we are going to be unstoppable this year."
Clara looked over to Sirius who sleepily smiled to her. So, she was getting the nice Sirius today. "Morning." He yawned and grabbed a piece of toast.
"Morning." Clara said without much emotion in her voice. She was getting tired of the back-and-forth game she had with the boy. She turned to Peter and smiled very warmly, hoping it would catch Sirius' attention.
"Good morning Peter. You're up early."
He nodded. "Thought I'd come watch. Wanted to give Moony some space."
Clara thought for a moment. She had just seen Remus the previous day. He had seemed a little run down but nothing out of the ordinary. "Is he okay?" Clara asked.
James turned to her. "He's fine. Just came down with a little illness."
"Have you taken him to the hospital -" Clara started to speak before she was interrupted by James.
James nodded his head. "Yes, of course. Madam Pomfrey is well aware."
Sirius smirked giving James a knowing look, much to Clara's confusion. She dropped the subject though. "So, Wulf?" She heard Peter speak up again.
She turned to look at him. "Yeah?"
"Please put this git in his place today yeah?" Peter asked putting an arm around Sirius' shoulders.
