Clara hadn't even thought that Lily was in the dormitory. She should have remembered but it completely slipped her mind as she laid in bed crying. She didn't want to cry, she really didn't but it needed to come out.
"Clara?" Lily asked gently.
Clara froze realizing she was there and tried to wipe the tears away, but they just wouldn't stop. She hated that it was always one step forward and two steps back with this move.
She heard Lily get up and sit on the end of her bed. "Clara are you okay?" She cooed trying to comfort her distressed friend.
Clara nodded sitting up. "I'm fine." She said quietly, still trying to get rid of the tears from her eyes.
"Did Black do this to you? I swear to god I will cut that toe rag up into a million–"
Her outburst caused Clara to giggle. "No, it wasn't him. He just asked a question that caught me off guard. Stuff I'm not ready to talk about." She appreciated Lily's overprotective nature; they were still incredibly new friends, yet she was willing to confront Sirius for her.
She nodded and pulled Clara into a hug. "I know this may seem weird being that we don't really know each other that well. But whenever you feel ready, you can tell me anything. I just want you to know I won't judge you. We want you to feel comfortable here."
Clara hugged her a bit tighter briefly before letting her go. "Thank you, Lily. You don't know how good it is to hear that."
Lily smiled realizing Clara from the hug and squeezed her hand. "Do you want to go on a walk? I want to show you one of my favorite places to relax. I think you'd love it."
Clara stood up from the bed. "I'd love to."
The girls made their way out of the castle and down a path that Clara was unfamiliar with. After a while they made it down to a clearing that opened up to a lake. Clara shivered, unnoticed by Lily trying her best to keep her composure. After the incident with her twin Clara was terrified of large bodies of water. Lily walked over to a massive tree and sat down against it. Clara followed her lead.
"I love sitting here and reading." Lily spoke after a bit of silence between the two of them.
Clara nodded. "It's serene." And it was. While she didn't particularly like the lake in front of her it was very peaceful. The scenery before her was gorgeous, filled with hills and mountains covered in all sorts of foliage with different colors popping out.
Lily smiled. "Incredibly serene."
"I bet it's stunning when the leaves change. That was my favorite thing about Ilvermorny. The fall in Massachusetts was something else. It makes you appreciate nature and all of the colors."
"There really is nothing quite like it." She grinned. "What do you miss the most?"
Clara thought for a moment. "I miss my friends dearly." Clara admitted. "I didn't get to say goodbye to them. The summer happened and I was whisked away here."
