Chapter 21

"Lily! Dorcas! Alice!" Clara yelled running into the girls shared dorm room. Three heads snapped up to focus on Clara frantically running into the dorm room.

"What? Are you alright?" Lily walked over to Clara.

"I have news." Clara fidgeted with her sweater looking down.

"And that is?" Alice asked curious as ever. It wasn't often a roommate burst into a room so dramatically.

"I may or may not be going on a date with Sirius Black in an hour."

"What?" Lily gasped.

"Holy shit!" Dorcas jumped up from her bed. Alice slapped her hand over her mouth with wide eyes staring right at Clara.

"Before you go on and tell me what a terrible idea it is," Clara looked right at Lily. "I want you guys to know that I'll be okay. I'm not going to fall in love with him in a night."

"But it's already nine!" Lily looked at her exasperated. "You'll be out past curfew." She narrowed her eyes in at Clara.

Clara grinned knowing Lily was unaware of the invisibility cloak. "We won't get caught, trust me."

Alice and Dorcas laughed seeing Lily's cheeks heat up. "Tisk tisk Clara, breaking the rules in front of our very own prefect." Alice chimed in.

Clara turned to Lily giving Lily the sweetest face she could come up with, silently begging Lily to let her go. Lily took a breath pinching the bridge of her nose, clearly conflicted. "What are you two doing?"

Clara shrugged. "He just told me to dress warm. Something outside I 'spose."

"Something outside?" Dorcas asked looking concerned. "It's -2 out!"

"Haven't you been outside all day too?" Alice asked.

"So, Dorcas, there's these really neat things called coats." Clara smirked ignoring Alice's question for the moment.

"Sod off Clara!" Dorcas laughed launching her pillow hitting Clara in the back of the head.

All four girls burst out into laugher. After their giggling had died down Clara turned to Alice. "Yes, I have been outside all day! James wouldn't let me leave." Lily smiled at the mention of James.

"Lily's in love!" Clara gasped pointing at Lily excitedly.

"Oh no you don't! Don't you try and change the subject on me Wulf!"

Clara heard the faint giggles of her dormmates who didn't dare interrupt. "I'm not changing the subject. I'm just pointing out the obvious."

She scoffed. "Hardly."

Clara patted her shoulder going to grab a change of clothes. "You'll see soon enough Lily." Clara went to go shower quickly.

When she walked back into her dormitory Alice had disappeared, Dorcas was reading, and Lily was taking notes. "Where'd Alice go?" Clara asked.

"Franks." Lily mumbled.

"Aww." Clara smiled. "She's really into him."

Dorcas nodded. "I think she loves him. She won't admit it, but she looks like it."

Clara nodded. "How are you and Remus?"

Dorcas' smile slightly faltered. "It's been wonderful other than I feel like he's keeping something from me."

Clara obviously knew what she was talking about. She quickly turned in another direction making sure not to give away anything on her face. "Oh, really?" Clara asked suddenly becoming very interested in folding her robes.
