Throwback (5 years ago)
"Okay, so far the progress is good. The blood clots in your brain are completely gone and haven't reappeared again. Your ribs seem fine to me now." Doctor Taylor, who had been attending to me after my accident, was reciting my progress report to me before I get discharged.
"However, your leg still hasn't completely healed. There is no sign of infection, but the cast will have to remain for another couple of weeks. So, please try to put minimal pressure on that leg."
"Don't worry, doctor. I'll make sure she stays in bed all day. No walking at all." Jase commented from beside me.
"Oh no no. I didn't mean that. She needs to walk around a bit, for her legs to get used to it again. Just try not to put too much pressure on that specific leg. And, I've given you some medications too. Please take them dutifully."
Doctor Taylor had been so nice to me the entire time I've been here. He is probably in his late twenties, so he almost sees me as his sister. He went out of his way to make sure I was okay. And I was immensely thankful to him for that.
"And, we are ready to go back home." Dad announced from the doorway.
Its been three weeks since the accident, and almost two weeks since I woke up. Today I was finally getting discharged. I would finally be able to go back home to my mom, my family, my friends. Back to my Ashton.
"I hope you have completed the discharge procedure, I'll go and sign the discharge certificate. But, you are supposed to come in every Thursday for schedule checkup. Remember that."
And with that, Doctor Taylor was out of my room. Jase was sitting beside me with his arm around my shoulder. Dad came towards me and engulfed me in a hug, kissing my head.
"Finally, my princess is coming home with me. We all missed you so much. Now let's go. Your mom is waiting."
Both Jase and dad helped me get up and sit down on the wheelchair. Dad went ahead and Jase stayed behind to wheel me all the way to the front reception.

"There is a surprise waiting for you at home." I've never seen dad so excited about something.
"Yeah, you'll love it. We have arranged a small 'Welcome Back' party for you."
"Ugghhhh.......Jason. You were not supposed to say that." Dad really sounded as if he was disappointed in him.
Meanwhile, I was trying my best to not have an anxiety attack. When Jase helped me get inside the car, I felt as I was being suffocated in a closed space. And no, I was not claustrophobic.
After a couple of minutes, I started feeling better. But I was still trying not to have a panic attack whenever I saw a big truck or something nearby.
It's been a week since I last saw Ashton. He did not come to visit me at the hospital this whole past week. I blamed it to the fact that he too was injured and maybe was not feeling upto it. However, he did text me a couple of times to check up on me.
As soon as I entered the house, everyone in the living room jumped up and shouted "Surprise.!"
"Uhmmm......it's not a surprise anymore. It kinda slipped outta my mouth." Jase blushed.
It was almost comical how everyone was glaring at him.
Our house was a huge double-storey mansion. Upon entrance was a huge living room, which was only used when my mom or dad had guests around. For close friends and family, was another living room which was much more cozy and homely.
