Uuuuuggghhhh...

I truly deeply really despise Mondays. We used to think so when we were in high school, at seventeen, but here I am twenty-three years old, and working for a prestigious company but still hate Mondays. And let me tell you it has nothing to do with getting up early because let's face it, I like waking up early (no sarcasm, I swear).

I just hate Mondays in general. It's just the whole prospect of weekend being five long days away that irritates me. I know it does not make any sense, but it is what it is.

Then there is my boss, whom I might have a teeny tiny bit crush on. And what makes it worse is his occasional flirting. I mean it does not really help my case.

In college, boys used to hit on me all the time, but I never really harbored any kind of interest in anyone. I have not been in a serious relationship since high school. But that is a story for another time.

Its 6.30 in the morning and I have to leave for gym in 15 minutes. I quickly get up and change into yoga pants, neon blue sports bra and a black tank top. Putting my hair in a high ponytail, i enter my bathroom to wash my face and brush my teeth.

Liv is still asleep in her room when I leave for gym. Liv and I share an apartment in Seattle. We have been friends since freshman year of college. We both attended UCLA and since then, we are inseparable. And when we left college, we decided to share the same apartment since we had jobs in same city.

My gym is a 10 minute walk from our apartment. I always walk to the gym since it makes no sense to drive for such a short distance if you are willing to pay to keep fit and healthy. Also, walking helps me calm my mind and gives me time to think.

By the time I returned from the gym, Liv is already in the kitchen awake and preparing coffee for herself. The whirring of the espresso machine and smell of freshly brewed coffee was filling the kitchen and living room

"Morning Liv,'' I greeted her, walking towards the fridge to take out the ingredients for my smoothie.

"Morning hun. Want some coffee?" She asked yawning.

"No, thanks. Is Alex awake or still sleeping?" I started putting all the ingredients in the blender.

"No, he had to leave at night. Family emergency," she explained.

"Oh. Is everything alright?" I asked.

"Yeah. It's just that Mitchie got in a small accident and broke her leg. He got a call from the hospital last night,'' she said.

"Oh my god. Is she alright? Was it bad?" I asked concerned.

"Dont worry Mia. She is fine. A fracture in the left leg, but nothing to worry about. Oh, and also a dent on the hood," she joked.

Alex was Liv's boyfriend. They had been dating for a year and half almost. He is an editor in a publishing company. Mitchie is Alex's sister, just turned 17 and hence in senior year.

Liv was already finished with her coffee and was doing her makeup, by the time I decided to hop into the shower.

After shower, I was in the bathrobe with my hair knotted on top of my head, when Liv shouted from outside my room.

"Bye honey, I'll see you at night."

"Bye Liv. Drive safely," I shouted back.

I decided on a grey sleeveless blouse with a black pencil skirt that ended just below mid-thigh, with black heels. I did not do accessories, just my watch. My makeup choice was always neutral with variance in lip shades.
