HELICARRIER- Landing Strip - 2012

Agent Coulson is waiting on the Helicarrier for us by the time Natasha and I return. Standing beside him, is another man, dressed in a plaid, old man looking, button up shirt, a leather jacket layered on top. He's tall and fit with his sandy blonde hair combed neatly to the side. As Natasha and I approach, he looks over at us, his eyes settling on me.

"Agent Romanoff. Agent Peters. This is Captain Rogers." Coulson gestures to the man standing beside him, his eyes lighting up ever so slightly at the mention of his name.

"Ma'am....and uh, ma'am." Captain Rogers inclines his head to both of us, hands still shoved in his pockets.

"Hi," Natasha greets him before turning to Coulson, acting as though the Captain was never there. "They need you on the bridge. Face time."

"See you there." Coulson remarks with a smile and nod before walking away. He pats my shoulder as he passes, leaving Natasha and I alone with Captain Rogers.

Natasha turns to me. "I need to go follow up with Fury about our mission. Can I leave you here?" She asks me, jerking her head in the Captain's direction. He raises an eyebrow at us in question.

"Be my guest." I say with a sigh. Natasha answers with a nod to both the Captain and myself before hurrying off to deal with whatever business she has to sort out with Nick Fury.

"I heard there was quite the buzz around here, finding you in the ice," I address the Captain in a more formal tone than how I address the other agents. He turns to me, his blue eyes finding my hazel ones almost instantly. "I thought Coulson was gonna swoon back there. Did he ask you to sign his Captain America trading cards yet?"

"Trading cards?" The Captain gives me a puzzled yet innocent look, eyebrows knitting together.

"They're vintage. He's very proud." I say with a smirk, turning to walk away. Much to my surprise, he trots after me, falling into stride with me a moment later.

"Should I ask him about it?" He asks me, swinging his arms with each stride he takes. He keeps his eyes on me while I keep mine straight ahead.

I pause, tilting my head to the side in thought in an over the top fashion. He stops as well, watching me with a curious expression. My face lightens as I look at him again with a sly smirk. "I think he'd like that."

He returns the smile warmly, shoving his hands back in his pockets as we face each other. There's a sort of classic look to him, the type of handsome you only see in the old movies nowadays. I suppose that's fitting, given the time period he quite literally emerged from. Time seems to work against the both of us it would seem.

"You're Agent...Peters? Is that right?" The Captain asks me.

"Yes but...I don't care for formalities all that much," I explain. "Amy works just fine."

He smiles again at that. I notice the way his shoulders relax as the awkwardness melts between us. Maybe Natasha was right about me having a way of making people feel safe around me. "Well in that case, call me Steve."
