Summer Solstice Special

Summer Solstice aka Litha!
“Litha” is the name given to the Wiccan Sabbat celebrated at the Summer Solstice. This is the longest day and shortest night of the year, marking the pinnacle of the Sun’s power to fuel the growing season. From here on out, the Sun will set a little earlier each night until Yule, and so we recognize and give thanks for its warmth. June 20-22 is often celebrated for this occasion.

It was a busy day in Liones, there was much to do for everyone. For today was the annual Summer Solstice celebration! This was the first year Acantha would be celebrating within the kingdom and as a comrade to the Seven Deadly Sins. The boar hat tavern was closed for the day, giving everyone in the kingdom time to prepare. "Huh? What the hell is Litha?" The voice of Ban questioned from his seat at the table as he drank. Elizabeth smiled softly. "Its another word for Summer Solstice. The kingdom celebrates it every year!" She said. Diane poked her head through the window of the tavern. "What gets celebrated though?" She asked. King floated over. "Summer Solstice celebrates the longest day of the year. Usually theres a god and goddess that get worshipped. But for some its a day of drinking and dancing." He stated lazily.

Acantha was seated at a table, swinging her legs gently. She's always watched people celebrate with a festival but was always scared to join. "My father would like you all to help us this year, especially you Sir Ban. He would like you to help the castle cooks make pastries and some of the food." The princess said. Ban sighed. "Yeah sure,I'll do it as long as they don't get in my way or try mouthing off to me." The man said. Merlin suddenly appeared. "The king has requested special help from all of us. There will be a feast in the kingdom and games will be played. And once the sun goes down, the kingdom who chooses to, will go to the top of the hill deep in the forest where a bonfire ceremony will be held. There, you can dance and sing to your hearts content." The woman stated.

Meliodas suddenly popped in, being behind Acantha with both arms using her head as an arm rest. "Well you heard the woman, let's make sure this is the best Litha the kingdom has ever celebrated." He said with a chuckle. Elizabeth gave a smile at the nymph and demon, seeing as they were quite happy in each others presence. The silver haired girl pulled out multiple letters each with instructions for each sin. "Father has made lists for each of you. It'll tell you what he has requested and where to go." She stated and gave the letters to each and every one of the sins. The letter was quite elegant with a wax seal of the family crest. Acantha opened hers and read it carefully.

'To Acantha of the nymphs, it is with great appreciation that I request your assistance with this years Litha celebration. I ask that you help the children with picking herbs and fruit. Our usual caretaker for the children has since recently moved kingdoms. The fruit I request you pick are strawberries and apricots. As for herbs, mint, lavender and sage would do just fine. The kingdom's rural area has groves with exceptional grown fruits. As for the herbs, I suggest you search within the forest. Once you have finished gathering please bring what you have to the castle's kitchen.  After that, the florists will need help making decorations. They will guide you on what to do and how to do it. Once these tasks have been completed, please see me for a special request.

Acantha was a little hesitant with the mention of helping the children. She hasn't had much experience being around kids of any age and didnt know if the king had made the right decision. "Alright! I get to help collect wood for the bonfire!" Diane exclaimed. "I have to decorate the kingdom and the evening celebration area." King stated casually. Ban rolled his eyes, tossing the paper to the side. "I'm cookin' as usual." He said. Meliodas chuckled. "I'm also helping get wood. And deliver all the food." The blonde smiled. Everyone went on explaining what they had to do, most being to decorate or make decorations. "Alright gang, let's go out and help!" He exclaimed ecstatically.
