Chapter Thirty: Betrayal and Trickery

Acantha now being the main target due to the commandment she held in her bag of holding, had to force more power and energy into her body in order to dodge and fight back. The easy part was staying away, deflecting was the hard part. She caged Zeldris in fire and sent them down on him. He deflected these attacks with his sword, glaring up at her. The demon prince flew at her and swung his sword, aiming for her head. Though the girl would merely just fly up. Acantha figured she could lose him by flying into the clouds. And this somewhat worked, she flew above the clouds and had a moment to breathe before sensing Zeldris strike her from above and send her crashing down to the earth. The force struck down on her was so great, it caused a crater to form beneath her. Zeldris landed on the ground across from her. "Remember our deal, nymph!" He exclaimed in frustration. This struck everyone by surprise. "Deal?? What deal?!" Diane questioned. Zeldris smirked. "Ever wonder why I was always prepared, always three steps ahead?" He didnt take his eyes off of the nymph who arose to stand. "She has been my pawn. She told me the status of it all. Including what happened the night those archangels arrived." Zeldris explained, going on and on about how Acantha was never on their side. He did this for two main reasons, to break down the spirit of the sins, and to give himself a moment to plan.

The raven haired main put his hand out. "It just so happened to be perfect you entrusted such a traitor to hold a piece of the puzzle." His tone was cocky and arrogant. "Acantha, hand over the commandment of faith." He demanded. Everyone was in shock. The girl they thought they could trust, ended up betraying them. "That explains why she would randomly disappear at night..." King said. "Acantha don't do it!" Gowther yelled. The nymph stared dead at Zeldris with nothing but hatred in her eyes. She slowly made her way over, reaching into her bag of holding. "Lady Acantha! If you do this! Sir Meliodas will never return to us!!" The princess called to her friend. The nymph pulled out the bottle, standing right in front of Zeldris and placing the bottle into his armor covered hand. Zeldris let out a dark chuckle. "You nymphs always were so eager to follow orders."  He looked at the bottle in his hand and paused, his face turning to that of baffledness. It wasn't a bottle with Melascula. The bottle was filled with pure white cotton and two red berries that imitated a snake. Acantha was already walking away, the real bottle in her hand. She looked over her shoulder, a glint of mischief in her eyes. It was almost as if she was looking down upon Zeldris.

"Have fun with that." She said, a teasing tone as her flame wings emerged from her back. Her eyes going to a pure glowing white and her hair turning to flames. Zeldris was infuriated whereas the sins didnt even know what to think. "Did she just trick the demon prince??" Hawk asked. Acantha flew up high in the smoke filled sky, leaving a trail of embers in her path. "Gowther! What's her power level at now??" Diane asked. The doll looked at the female. "Her power level currently is 95,000!" He announced. "That almost matches up to Zeldris' power level. Yet she can still be overpowered." He said. "We can't just leave her!" Elizabeth said to them. They were all unsure. After all, Acantha was the one who spilled plans to Zeldris.

Acantha was just playing a very intense game of keep away. Zeldris chased after her and avoided any fire that was left behind from the girls wings. "Dammit... You stupid nymph! How dare you trick me!" He swung his sword. The nymph looked to him, a soft smile on her face filled with pity. "I'm sorry, Zeldris." She said, letting her wings go out and forcing her to quickly change directions. This only angered the raven haired demon more. He got his blade out and flew faster than ever at the one who tricked him. Acantha flew around and fought off Zeldris. Below the clouds where the others stood, the sins bickered. "That nymph lied to you all!" Mael exclaimed. "Still! She hasn't given up the commandment!" Elizabeth and Diane yelled. Merlin was conflicted while King was trying to fight off the fusion of Cusack and Chandler. Gowther finally spoke up. "Everyone!! Acantha was forced into it!" He yelled at them. "What?? How do you know Gowther?" Hawk asked, looking up at the injured doll. "I read her memories! I've known about this! She begged me to keep it a secret because she was terrified of what you all would think! We can figure out what to do later! But right now she needs our help!" The golden eyed male stated.
