VIOLET'S POV
*Flashback*
I was sitting at my desk when I heard an ear pierecing scream. I jolted out of my spinny chair and looked out the window. I saw a different array of colors, consisting of reds, oranges, yellows, and even blues. I was completely shocked. My eyes widened at the sight and I quickly got my phone to call three simple numbers. 9-1-1. I was completely horrified and I gave them my address to help my neighbors.
I immediatley broke down into sobs. I felt so vulnerable! It was my fault too. I remember that I left the stove on. How could I think that they would know that it was on? My sobs got louder and louder until I heard a siron. I was relived that they were coming to help, but then my floor rumbled. I fell down two stories.
I could barely open my eyes. My head was pounding and all I could see was the fire truck flipped on its side. My vision was blurry like I put on someone's perscription glasses. I had just enough strength to move my head to see my parents. I prayed that my parent's were alright. I would not be able to live with myself. I saw a white truck pull up to my side, putting me on the jurney.
My parents were put on two other jurnies.I could honestly tell you that I was internally crying, but didn't have enough energy to shred one tear. People were feeling my pulse and putting an oxygen mask over my mouth. My lungs felt shrivled and closed, I could only access a couple breaths a minute.
Eventually, I was put in a surgery room and I got anastheia to obviously knock me out so I couldn't feel anymore pain than I was already experiencing. It felt about 2 minutes later when I gradually opened my eyes. I pushed the button for the nurse and one came bolting in no time. How could I still be alive? "How long has the incident been?" I ask desperatley.
"Why don't we get the doctor in here," she said plainly.
I waited another five minutes for him to enter the fluorescent room, that blinded me everytime I opened my eyes just to peak to see what was going on. "Ms.Anderson, how are you feeling?" he asked.
"How do you think I am feeling? My head is pounding. I don't know where my parent are. I am in the hospital! I feel horrible! I am so confused and the pain medication you gave me doesn't work," I snapped.
"Ms. Anderson, calm down," the doctor said softly, " I have some news for you."
"Just tell me the news," I huffed.
"As you know, there was a tragic accident. A fire truck, going to save your neighbors from the fire. The fire truck was speeding. When it rounded the corner, it collided into your house."
At this point I was going to bounce off the walls. The anxiety was consuming my whole body, covering every inch. He continued his news,"You fell two stories. You lost tons of blood, but we found some donators in the hospital. It has been one week since you have waken up and in that week, both of your parents have died. You will be sent to an adoption center."
My eyes pricked with tears and I didn't say a word. I don't have anything left. Both of my parents are gone, I will never be able to keep sane. This is like some twisted reality. Where are the cameras? Please tell me I was just punked. I closed my eyes, hard and long, hoping that when I open them, my parents will be beside me. I opened my eyes and searched hopelessly for their bodies, but all I saw were empty plastic chairs.
I looked at the doctor and back down at my wrist. I pulled all of the IVs out of me and ran out of bed. I was bawling while running down the hallways. My life isn't fair! Why me? My arm was stinging from all of the needles I pulled out. I heard foot steps coming after me. I was not going back! I eventually fell on the cold tile and I didn't have enough strength to get back up. My life was over.
No one was going to be my shoulder to cry on. I was picked up by one of the security guards and I was hitting and kicking his back, as if he was going to let go of me. I was sick and I could not help it. My world had crumpled in front of my eyes, leaving me with ash and debris that can't be fixed. I will never be able to live the same, I could never be able to be the old me.
*Flashback over*
I sat up in my bed. My sheets were covered in sweat and tears. That day seemed like it was out on repeat in my brain. I got up to get a glass of water. My first day in England and I am already a wreck. I was supposed to start fresh. Turn the page in my life, create a new chapter. I looked at the clock and it was 4:30 AM. I took a deep breath and I laid back down with the same anxiety filled chest. Wishing that one day, my life will get the opportunity to restart.
