Chapter nine: Yearning

Takeda-sensei was shocked at the sheer power of the ace Asahi spike and how it went “kaboom” they went about congratulating each other.

  “Hey I know you wanted to see the ace and everything but don’t freak out” Tobio called out to Hinata.

“what I’m not freaking out I might not be as tall and strong as him but I got spirit the next ace is me” nishinoya was yelling out Asahi about skipping club for a month

“so not only are we against a veterans team we against them three we have our work cut out for us”  Daichisaod and Tanaka was to say don’t worry you got me but Hinata hopped in front of him and stole his lines Tanaka started yelling at him about popping up and stealing his thunder.

I was laughing softly at them as the game continued “oh well guess he wasn’t kidding around when he told me that,” Asahi said staring wide-eyed at Hinata who just did one of their crazy quicks. noya was asking how he did that and coach ukai yelled at Hinata asking why he jumped all the way over there? “Because it will come wherever I am sir”

“what are you guys a couple of weirdos?” “weirdos?” I giggled because I knew my brother was in fact a weirdo “are we?” “I don’t know.” tsukishima laughed in the background while my brother yelled at him  “tsukishima wipe that smirk off your face”

Asahi then did a straight spike and Tanaka fanboyed “and this is after he’s been out for a month marvelous bastard”

“you are way too excited," Daichi said to Tanaka. the score was now 19-24 and was Daichi served and nishinoya received it perfectly then suga set it to Asahi.

Hinata manages to one-touch it but it went out of bounds winning Suga team the set Tobio was trying to show Hinata how to block but was ignored because Hinata was staring at Asahi in amazement “they ace is amazing it doesn't matter if someone is there cause he has enough power to break right threw them..what?” “nothing.”

during the second set Hinata seemed lost in thought and ended up getting hit by the aces spike freaking Asahi out they all ran over I too went over. “well he’s alive” Tanaka said 

“Hinata are you okay,” nishinoya asked as Asahi was apologizing over and over again tsukishima telling him not to apologize as it was his fault for spacing out “Hinata can you sit up for me,” I asked him.

“yeah, sorry guys I’m okay.” “Are you dizzy or nauseous?” “no” I used a small light I carried around to make sure he had no sign of a concussion as he did just get hit in the head really hard.  “if you get dizzy or nauseated or headache or incoordination let me know okay.” “yes ma'am," I gave him a small smile as Daichi said maybe he should sit out a bit.

I waved his concern off “as long as he doesn’t have any of those symptoms he’s fine.. I don’t see any indication of a concussion as he’s not slurring his speech but can you take a few steps for me,” coach ukai asked me if I was the medic. “um not really but I do help out as we don’t have one and I’m pretty familiar with human biology and bandage people.” “I see”.

Hinata then said he got hit in the face a lot suga replied with “that not a good thing” he just laughed but stopped when he saw my brother’s face which did look scary. 

“it’s the middle of a game what could you possibly be daydreaming about?” Hinata got up quickly and started walking backward showing me that he is indeed not concussed. 

 “I know what it is you want to be the ace don't you, you don’t want to be the decoy you think it’s lame you want to be as big and powerful as Asahi so you can be the ace instead am I right?”
