Sienna POV

"Sienna are you almost ready to go?!"

My head darts up off my pillow and my heart begins to race by my Mother suddenly screaming from downstairs.

I look at the time on my phone and see its noon. I sigh to myself and get out of bed. I don't even remember falling asleep. I think my body was just hoping if I fell asleep, my family would leave for our lake house without me.

I grab my duffle and laptop bag and slowly make my way downstairs.

I hate this time of year.

"What took you so long?" I hear my Mom say with annoyance in her voice. Her light brown eyes stare into mine and I can tell she's anxious to leave.

"I fell asleep," I say. "You could've went without me." I hum back with a smirk.

"Oh, so you stay home alone all summer with Logan right down the road? I don't think so." My Mom says while nudging me.

Logan is my boyfriend. We have been dating for six months now, and my Mom isn't fond of him. She isn't fond of any boy I've dated actually.

"Plus, this is your last summer with the family before you go to college." She says while running her fingers through my hair. Her brown eyes turn all gloomy, making me feel guilty for actually wanting to stay home all summer.

"I know," I mutter. "Is Dad meeting us at the lake house?" I ask curiously.

"Yes," She says with a warm smile. "Now, if you can help your brother carry his stuff that would be amazing."

I look to my younger brother, Ezra, and see he has three bags with him. "What are you brining bud?" I ask my five year old brother. His eyes are a bright blue which I'm jealous of because I inherited my Moms brown eyes and not my Dads blue.

"I got tons of toys this summer for us to play with." He says while handing me over one of the bags. His mop of curls are messy so you can tell a brush has not gone through it today. I'll pick through it in the car.

"Oh yeah?" I ask, amused by his excitement.

We leave the house and start heading to the car to load up our stuff. "Yeah!" My brother says with amusement behind me.

I grin by his words and throw our bags into the trunk. I look down at my phone and see its a text from Logan saying

I miss you already

Compared to my two ex boyfriends, Logan seems the most sincere. He's a nice guy, who got into a nice school, and has always treated me with respect. I don't see why my Mom doesn't like him.

"Anna why don't you like to go to the lake house?" I hear my brother ask as I help him buckle in his seatbelt. Only my family calls me Anna. It is a derivative from my Mom's best friend's name, Anne, who lives next to us in Lake George. She's always been an Aunt figure to me despite not being blood related .

My mind thinks to my Aunt Anne's son, Harry, who I've disliked since I was a kid. If we are talking about rude he's the definition of it.

"I just don't like being outside," I fib.

Ezra loves Harry so I don't want to pop his bubble that he's the rudest person towards me.

"We are having dinner at Aunt Anne's house when we arrive." I hear my Mom say while throwing in her bags in the back.

"Sweet!" My brother exclaims. "Will Harry be there?"

"Yes he will," My Moms eyes look at me. I roll mine back at her.

She has always wanted me to be with Harry, as any mom with a best friend, who has a kid the same age as hers, would.

"Great." I mutter back to keep the positivity going.

I take a seat in the back next to my brother and respond back to Logan saying I miss him too.

I put in my earbuds and wait for our dreadful, 2 hours drive, to our lake house.
