The car was silent the entire way home. But it was a peaceful silence, with the sound of raindrops plodding against the window creating a soothing atmosphere.
Delilah and Luca were feeling better than they had in a long time, and it all seemed too good to be true. The pure souls just hoped Oliver wouldn't turn on them and be mean like the others had.
Reaching a place they would now call home was such a foreign concept to four-year-olds.
Oliver turned off the car and faced the twins, who were stunned by the largest house they'd ever seen.Oliver laughed at their reaction, proving that being the CEO has its advantages.
"That's our home?" Luca asked, shocked. Oliver smiled as Luca called it his home; he was ecstatic that the two were progressively opening up to him.
"Yeah, kiddo. Do you want to come inside and take a look?"
Delilah and Luca both nod quickly. Oliver gets out of the car and walks over to Delilah's side; he hadn't yet purchased car seats, so that was something that needed to be done right away.
Oliver took Delilah's hand and walked over to Luca's side after getting her out of the car.Oliver could his 16-year-old, Liam, looking out the window with his jaw dropped as they walked up the pathway leading to the front door.
When Oliver inserted the key into the door and unlocked it, the three were greeted by a warm breeze of air scented with fresh lavender.
Liam dashed towards them. His eyes well up with tears. "Delilah, Luca?"
