The sound of the wind blowing, wolves howling, and trees rattling against the window of a cold abandoned house jolted the sleepy souls awake.

The two twins sat on the cold, dirty floor, cuddled up. Without any blankets to keep warm. There was no telling how long they'd been inside the house because their neglectful grandmother had left them.

Luca worked hard not to fall asleep so he could watch on Delilah. He had grown very protective of her since the two were kidnapped. Having to witness such things at the age of four, he learned and saw things that no child should.

"Luca, I'm cold," Delilah said quietly as she tried to fall back asleep but the chilliness in the room became too much for her.

"I'm sorry Lilah, do you want to look for some covers with me?"

Delilah lifted up from the floor and nodded. Luca stood up and took Delilah's hand in his.

"How will we search?" Delilah inquired softly as they moved through the dark house.

They couldn't see what the inside of the house looked like because it was always too dark.

Before he could respond, Delilah spoke again.

"There's a door right there, Luca."

Luca turned his head in the direction Delilah had pointed, and there was, indeed, a door. They were close enough to see it even though it was barely visible.

"All right, let's go that way."

They walked over to the door, which, to their surprise, led to the outside.

They were finally going to be free.
