Sky-high

I fluttered my eyes open to hear a familiar giggle. I tilted my head over and saw those "mean" girls hovered on top of the girl I first saw on the first day, Kim. She was still sleeping but kept tossing her head. The girls must have been messing with her. I moved my head in a specific angle to try and get a better look at Kims face in the gap of the girls bodies. They were doing her makeup but horribly. I looked around in the room, everyone else were still asleep but they were bound to wake up soon. 

"Hey, what are you doing?" I said groggily. My voice was a bit raspy and I tried to steady myself after sitting on the bed because I got up to fast.

"Ugh, you again." Amy rolled her eyes.

I stood from my bed and squinted my eyes at Kims face. I then snatched the makeup away from the girls and threw it far across the room.

"Hey!" Jen caterwauled. 

"You know, I don't think you know WHO exactly your messing with!" Amy fumed, her eyes piercing through my eyes.

"Same to you. Leave her alone or instead of the makeup it'll be you." I smiled to try and irritate her and it worked. She did a quick nod to her friends to follow her and they went away.

"Psst!" I darted my eyes too Kim. She squinted one eye open and saw once they were gone, she opened both her eyes.

"Thanks for that one." She said relieved.

"You were awake? This whole time?" I bleated. Kim nodded.

"Kim." I sighed. Her pride turned into confusion. "You can't just let people boss you around." 

"I was scared! And plus, it works. For me at least. I like it that way." She disclosed. 

"That way of thinking probably won't get you anywhere." I told her truthfully.

She was starting to get a frown and looked away from me, thinking in her thoughts. 

"Kim, I didn't mean it in that way. I just-"

"No, I know what you mean, I'm weak. I know..." Kim mumbled.

I wanted to say something but I was afraid that whatever came next wasn't gonna help. So I stayed silent. I went back to my bed, and some more were awake. Matt, Rob, and Jim were awake and I found Jim staring at me for a second but he then looked away. He has that kind of look where I don't know if he's mad all the time, or just numb. It's hard to tell. 10 minutes passed and everyone were awake. The speakers in the room spoke.

Head out of the room. We have an assignment for you all.

Everyone obeyed and headed out. 

"Hey, do you prefer sweet or savory?" Dinger asked, catching up to walk next to me.

"Sweet for sure, I could down so many milkshakes." I chuckled.

"Okay, so I'm gonna call you sugar." He decided.

"Oh so now you have nicknames for all the girls huh? Whats that ones name? Braces?" I disputed. I must've said the last part a little too loud because the girl with the braces looked back at me. I waved at her and gave her a friendly smile but she turned around and seemed angry.

"No! Jee that poor girl!" Dinger whispered.

"You are the only girl I gave a nickname too!" He said, which made me surprised.

"Well thanks Dinger!" I beamed.

He winked at me then disappeared into the crowd, going more in the front. Steven brung us to a room where he gave us clothes to change into. Grey long sleeve top and pants.
