Proper Lady

William took me to his office which looked like a regular home office. His walls were painted a nice light grey and what covered the walls were cut out newspaper headlines and pins. There were also pictures framed of William with the other mentors when they were younger.

"Is peeing yellow bad?" I read the headline.

"A toilet problem in the country." William explained.

"Saving the world." I looked to William to explain.

"One of my most recent ones. Basically the president was about to get assassinated from all his stupid remarks he's been making but we were able to take away the attacker before it could happen."

"Well I don't see any of your names for credit on these?" I asked confused.

"They don't credit us. As earlier the things we do are kept secret. The credit is due to some stupid celebrities or a random person because they don't want to believe it was a god, that's for sure." Will admitted.

"And this picture?" It had Peter, Will, Arthur, and some of the other mentors. They were all holding glasses at a table and cheersing it. The picture caught the moment.

"I'm sure you and the new agents will take one just like it and you can hang it in your office or wherever you hang out." William said.

"How to be a gentleman." I read off one of the pins.

"Which should be our next topic. But your not a man in fact a Lady, so let's see how we can make you a proper lady." Will said.

"What? But I already point my pinky out when drinking anything." I joked.

"Not quite like that." William chuckled.

"I'll just give you a couple of tips since being a lady takes time, just like being a gentleman." Will said. I nodded ready to hear what he was gonna say.

"How would you know what being a proper lady is like?"

"I've observed some, now, a lady is always well informed about any subject. Knowledge gets leverage therefore power." Will said.

"Smart but I have to hit the books?" I complained.

"Not necessarily, just be aware and observant." Will looked at me in a way to make sure I understood.

"Eye contact. Now this goes for both. You always want to let the person know that your present in the conversation and not dilly dallying and such." Will said. For the past couple of hours, Will taught me some very important and valuable things. For example like dress accordingly and don't chase perfection. There were also some that I didn't quite understand but Will told them to me anyway. Don't mix and match patterns, keep your legs together, and if I dye my hair make sure not to get to the stage of seeing more of the roots than the actual hair color. Yeah, I don't know either.

"Last one for the day." Will said.

"You said that 10 minutes ago Will." My head rested on my wrist, I felt my eyes getting harder to open.

"A true lady doesn't start fights." William said.

"Yeah I'm not sure I can follow that rule." I giggled.

"Why not?"

"I don't know, I knocked out a man at the bar and almost got in a fight with Jim which I expect a lot more of." I said.

"Why do you guys fight?" William was intrigued. As he asked that question, I didn't really know how to answer that.

"I don't know, why. Jim just always has something to say."

"Ah! Rule number 58.." Will looked like he was waiting for me to answer. I caught on and looked at the napkins I was writing on.

"Napkins? Really?"
"I couldn't remember all this without writing it down somehow." I flipped the napkins and found the number.

"-negative opinions if asked of them first." Will and I said in unison. I looked at Will with a numb expression.

"I'll take you back to the room now then." Will said, getting up from his chair. I also got up. I was too drained to say anything. The walk back was quiet but it was just because I was tired.
"Dwell on those tips." Will insisted before he left. I opened the door and saw everyone sleeping. I quietly closed the door and hopped into bed. I don't know if I was just so tired that the cardboard bed was actually comfortable or I just got used to it but I was excited for a nice nights rest.
