"Oh damn this ridiculous place!" Lestat cursed out for the tenth time this hour

"Oh damn this ridiculous place!" Lestat cursed out for the tenth time this hour. It's been ten years in this place and yet he can't seem to embrace its beauty. He never opens his mind to simple things, like an old home such as this one.

Earlier he stepped in a water puddle formed by yesterday night's rain, ruining his favorite black boots. I must have missed a hole in the roof. I never knew that a man such as him could even feel love for a pair of boots. He wears them every single damn day.

The constant pacing started to annoy the whole household. All of us struggle to contain our groans. If only I were strong enough to knock him out with a pillow from the couch for only a few hours. Peace and quiet we would get at last.

"Very funny Daphne." Lestat practically snarled, showing his pointed teeth. I held in my laughter but it only angered him more.

He never tried to ignore all the cracked ceilings or the busted-up doors. Though the many paint jobs didn't really help anything either. Claudia's sweet touch didn't even make a dent in this place.

Vases of flowers are scattered all around the different floors. It was as if there was going to be a wake here. They just made the place all the more depressing.

"Give it a rest Lestat, we will be back in New Orleans in three days." Dear Louis shook his head whilst playing with Claudia's hair. Though he is failing miserably at braiding a thick golden piece of curls.

I only showed him once how to accomplish a braid. It must have never stuck. I should try to teach him again soon.

"Why do I even bother?" The blonde vampire stomped his feet all the way up to our room.

"I'll go talk to him, try to get him out of this filthy mood." Louis nodded before returning to his child. She is sitting perfectly in his lap, humming a pretty tune, the tune I would sing the first few nights of her new life.

"Lestat," I call to him just as I reached the room that we have shared for so long.

I find him sitting close to the headboard of the bed. His legs crossed and his chest puffed out in petty anger. Looks like a child when they didn't get their way.

"You can handle it for just a few more days," I tell him before sitting in front of him. His eyes meet mine. That same look he gave the first night we spent in this very room.

"I already despise this awful place my Sweet," Lestat grumbled as he set down a few of my bags next to an old dresser.

"Just because the house is covered in dust means nothing my darling." I shake my head.

"Well, you are the only one affected by this mess, damn human." He spoke that last part under his breath but I heard.
